Rots Mijnwerker for CSM 20 - Your Community and Small Alliance Advocate

Hey @Elinore_en_Divalone

Thanks for taking the time to write this up and gather thoughts from myself and others.

1) Eve Vanguard.

Yes, i did try it. My impression (personally) is that it wasn’t my flavor and i was not hooked.

That is to say, i can see the work that has gone into it. I think the bidirectional connection that is planned has been tried before and i understand it as a goal for CCP. On paper as i’m sure they think too.. its rather tantalizing, and unique. I think it COULD attract new players, i think the benefit for capsuleers awaits to be seen.

2) Information & Isk Itemization

Well, i can get behind that. Forgive me but its rather wholesome to leave notes. Could you imagine eve online geocaching?

Anyway, yeah i would support this and offer to share it upward.

3) Production Plans

Boy, so there’s a double edged sword here and it is about eve online ethos.
Does eve online reward players for maximizing the tedium OR does ever online give players automation and passive isk.

I think there’s a middle ground, where players will do a certain amount of steps in the industry process before it is too exhaustive and convoluted, and also i think there are extremes.

Eve rewards preparation and time taken to make a final product and i feel this would be a little overly simplifying of the entire system. That all to say i could absolutely encourage cleaner UI around BP’s that would make a link for a build tree that outlines those materials in a concise copy-able list. Although i am not a fan of passive Indy farms.

I happen to be in a BLOC and i have seen the capabilities of organized players to achieve large goals. It also needs to be said that one of the limiting factors inherent to any alliance or community is our players game times.. i logged in a few hours later, i didn’t put this in build till then etc. It all adds up and personally limits (albeit small) some factors that make large blocs and small alliances so different.

Turn this on its head, IMPERIUM buys all 26 parts and pieces needed for a Raven or Dreads… they then buy enough materials for say.. 1000 dreads. Hit the button and cook? Its troublesome to me to automate something like that without some downside like waste or less positive build outcomes.

Now with regard to 3rd party developers, yes some ESI expansion may be in order however things like eve cookbook or otherwise and great resources that play to the system we have now. I am pro 3rd party tools personally.

Thanks for your time and the opportunity to answer your questions!

Cheers!
