Sanctified No More: Arch-Deacon Condemns Desecrated Basilica Turned Nightspot

MEHATOOR – The scandal surrounding The Gilded Veil—a rumored nightspot operating in the catacombs of a decommissioned basilica—has ignited a firestorm of condemnation from the pulpit of the Basilica of Saint Kuria.

In a sermon delivered before a packed congregation, Arch-Deacon Malrik Tovaan denounced the Veil as “a cathedral of corruption,” calling its transformation from sacred ground to pleasure den “a blasphemy carved in goldleaf and sin.”

“They dance where saints once wept,” Tovaan declared. “They burn incense not in prayer, but in pursuit of flesh and forgetting. The altar has become a stage. The martyrs now move to rhythm, not reverence.”

The Arch-Deacon’s fury was directed not only at the Veil’s patrons—rumored to include nobles in disguise and lapsed clergy—but also at those in power who have remained conspicuously silent.

“This is not repurposing. This is rot in silk,” he said. “And those who profit from it will find no sanctuary in doctrine or deniability.”

The sermon, delivered beneath the flickering light of Saint Kuria’s eternal flame, ended with a chilling invocation: “Let the chandeliers fall. Let the saints weep fire.”

Station command has yet to respond.
