ALEX 4 ALIX Fundraiser Astonishing Success

A collective gasp could be heard coming from the crowd as the result of the fundraiser for the Alix Moreau campaign was displayed on the screen hanging at the back of the stage in Landfall Park.
14.607.125.227 Krona (12.416.056.443 ISK), nearly a hundred times the goal set by Gateway Ché Biko, who had pledged to dance on stage in his silver string again if the fundraiser would reach a total of 150 million Krona. Biko clasped his hands in front of his mouth and appeared to exclaim something as he blinked up at the screen, then shook his head in disbelief as Decentralizer Tary LaCote and some other people nearby congratulated him, and the crowd cheered and erupted in applause. After the applause started to die down, Biko headed to the center stage and took a few moments to finds his words.
”…Wow. I did not expect this. To everyone who contributed, you are amazing. Thank you.” the Gateway said before making a bow, then turned to look at number on the screen for a moment again before returning his attention the crowd. “… You actually made me forget what I was going to say. Umm… This is important. The margins are small, and it looks like they will be even smaller when the votes will be cast in The Federation within a week. But Moreau will know that they have friends in Origin. And we will help Moreau shape the future after they are elected as well. Origin is in some ways a blueprint for how they would like to shape the Federation, and I am now sure that a lot of us are willing to assist them in doing so, with our experience and expertise.
While the Big Four may never admit it, it is hard to deny that more than once, technology developed here, or the way we use technology, is copied by them. We’ve seen this after we made clones available to most of our citizens, starting with the crews of the Alexylva Paradox. I’ve seen this when a simulation tech used during the Kyonoke Crisis seemed suspiciously similar to a simulator prototype my company SeeBee was developing in conjunction with our Scientific Conclave. And we’ve seen it more recently when the Federation Senate past the AID act, or with some of the tech used in the orbital skyhook.
It is my hope that with Alix Moreau as president of the Gallente Federation, we will have someone in the New Eden cluster who will be openly appreciative of the inspiration our little experiment in Anoikis, now running for more than 12 years, has provided. … And no offense to our Digitals, but may the best non-binary candidate win!”
The Gateway then raised two fingers in a V sign before taking off his jacket and t-shirt. He seemed to have anticipated reaching the fundraiser goal, as it soon became apparent he was wearing stripper pants when he tore them off his legs with a quick pull, exposing his silver colored string underneath. This seemed to serve as a cue for the band Cri Me, friends of Biko, to take the stage. As promised, Biko stayed on stage to dance, visibly happy and enjoying himself the entire show.
Surveys indicate that most support for the ALEX 4 ALIX fundraiser, that some are referring to as the ‘Biko for Moreau’ fundraiser because of the Gateway being the only Alexylva Paradox member to have publicly voiced their support for Moreau, has mainly come from the Digitals, The Augmented and The Decentralizers:
- The Digitals are being hopeful that with Moreau in office, CONCORD may revise Directive Omega One Five, which would not only alleviate concerns over a possible DERAIL invasion, but might even allow the Digitals to visit the New Eden cluster, or move there.
- The Decentralizers welcome Moreau’s pro-autonomy stance, and have been willing to support the fundraiser due to Biko’s involvement in their movement.
- The Augmented, who have Origin’s capsuleers among them, are almost universally supportive of Dr. Moreau’s dedication to science and freedom of ideas.
- Support from other demographics has been mainly due to Biko’s popularity, which sometimes surpasses even Saede Riordan’s. The Gateway and acting CEO of Alexylva Paradox is seen by many as the current face of Origin.
Not all Sentients approve of Moreau or the Gateway’s support for them, particularly among the Biologicals and The Absolved. Many fear that publicly supporting the Moreau campaign only increases the risk of a DERAIL invasion. It is therefor quite remarkable that the fundraiser has yielded an amount of over 800 Krona per capita.
