To whom this info may be of interest, I have officially decided on a shortlist of three individuals to cast my votes for in this year’s election for CSM19. - They are as follows:
- By and large, the vast majority of the other candidates were either exclusively Null-Centric, or who’s area of expertise and (more importantly) experience seems to include basically any and all facets of EVE Online you could imagine… but PvP!
Not to say it was the only factor into these choices, because I also resonate with alot of the various types of easily implemented and long long overdue QOL improvements being called for (like an increase to contact list limits, which as a very social player would be HUGE) as well as further calls for CCP to help us help them help someone make us at least feel like they’re combating bots and RMT as much as they keep stating they are or at least more intuitive tools and methods for reporting. Finally, if you were one of the candidates who took the whole “newbro virtue signaling” and 3/4ths of your entire platform is just some utopian idealist dream of how we can hold their little hands and guide them through the stars… lol yeah I think outside of improving the ease of accessing information (like the tutorial guides in game is helpful for sure, but you know how easy it is to find anything with a 10 second google search…or whatever they use in China…) We’ve effectively have gotten to where if they cant figure it out they honestly wont, and thats OK. You can’t fix stupid, though you can certainly try to fix stupid, and almost always at the expense of something else. A big problem IMO is newbros either don’t want to, or cant be bothered to tab out in order to access these things, and to be fair just because I’m willing to doesn’t make it any less annoying, so hey why not just provide us an in-game internet browser.) Even just an in-game accessible archive of the Eve Wiki/Forums would be enough. Anyways if my Alliance ends up posting a Best/Worst CSM list like last year you’ll be able to find that on our blog. - Sargon
