SCC Surcharges in NullSec canonically make zero sense

As can be seen in the above, a Corp-owned facility (deep in NullSec) is being charged an SCC (Secure Commerce Committee) surcharge for running a job.

This makes no sense, since the SCC is a division of CONCORD, and canonically only operates in Empire space. Why would it be (and how would it even be able to be) levying its HighSec surcharges out in the depths of Null, in a Player-built, Player-owned Structure?

Not to mention it triples job costs by doing so…

Where’s the logic to this?

It’s an ISK sink necessary to balance the economy.

No it doesn’t make any sense.

Meekly rolling over and just accepting these kinds of things as a pure game mechanic, with zero logic in terms of the canonical storyline – and being willing to put up with it again and again because [we suppose] that CCP simply had “no better way” of doing something – is a kind of behavior that we, collectively, as players of EVE tend to exhibit far too often, in my opinion. CCP just doesn’t even have to try to make their hackneyed plotlines make sense or even loosely hang together anymore.

ftfy . scc operates independent of concord .

through stargates . you got a gate in that system ? pay the man .. also

-1 for excessive use of “canonically” … ;p

The intergalactic financial network (aka banking network, the infrastructure all capsuleer- and corporation-wallets are run on) is not player-built nor player-owned. SCC can charge you whatever they like for whatever transaction they like as long as a single ISK is involved in the transaction.

And be glad that it’s only a ISK-surcharge, that everyone has to pay equally, so it doesn’t really matter in the global competition. You got Upwell-Stations with unlmited storage and unlimited production lines in return. Imagine you had to produce at a POS like in the old days: some million m³ max storage for the materials, limited jobs at a time and after that you needed another POS that you’d have to refuel and defend… we do agree industry has become MUCH more convenient today, do we? See that surcharge at a small price for all that convenience…

Wrong. There are DED NPCs in pirate missions in null.
