Really though, if OP is having issues with his monitor going black, it seems a better course of action to diagnose the issue by going to technical help, rather than thinking it is a vast conspiracy for devs to gank you. If they really wanted to do that they would not need to blind you, they could just shoot you from across the system in one of their cockroaches.
Yes, it’s only EvE that is doing it.
It’s when you go afk.
No other game is causing this to happen.
It even happens if you just load up the launcher and go afk.
It’s like a power saving black screensaver.
Shake the mouse and it wakes up.
I have all my power options to never sleep.
Is this something from EvE doing this or the new windows update?
It’s annoying as hell.
I found a few other threads of people with a similar issue. Unfortunately, they never posted the results of their troubleshooting, but trying the troubleshooting steps listed in this thread might be worth a shot.
Don’t go afk is not a solution.
This is not a hardware issue, this doesn’t happen to anyone else?
I have all my settings to never sleep, but only when EvE is running or even just the launcher is running, the screen will go to sleep after being afk.
Shake the mouse.
It’s a desktop with a RTX2080ti.
Is it something from Nvidia?
I just updated windows a few days ago, could it be some power saving thing that has been added but I can’t find?
Odd that it’s only EvE that is doing it.
Screen
When plugged in, turn off after - Never
Sleep
When plugged in, turn off after - Never
It’s exactly 15 min when it does it.
And the sound will bug out also but come back when you move the mouse.
After 15 min it goes dark
And the monitor says DVI
Then HDMI
Then No Signal.
It seems the sound is only bugging out when you shake the mouse.
At some point in the last few patches they did change something, if you go AFK for long periods it seems like the client disconnects and reconnects in the background.
