Screen goes black when AFK

I have my monitor to never go to sleep.
Why does EvE keep putting up a black screen?
Does this make it easier for CCP devs to gank players?
Seriously, why are you putting my screen to sleep?
And how do I shut this off?

The first step in diagnosing your technical issue is to ensure the monitor is plugged in. Please find the electric cord, unplug the monitor if it is plugged in, and then reinsert the plug. Next we will need to restart your internet router.

Give the back of the monitor a good hard smack. That should fix it. If not, next time it goes black, hit Alt-F4.

This is a known bug - caused by having too much porn on your computer.

I disagree, it sounds instead rather like your GFX fluid is running low - ensure that stays topped up, otherwise the GPU begins to overheat and degrade in performance.

Except it’s not…which is why you haven’t gotten a serious answer. I’m the killjoy that’s telling you the problem is on your end. Go change your settings in your computer so that the monitor doesn’t go to sleep so quickly, or update your graphics card or something. If it was Eve, everyone would be having the same problem…but we’re not.

You can refill the GFX fluid either through the USB port, or by placing the entire computer in a bathtub full of soapy water.
