I play Trouble with my kids. They picked it up pretty quickly

The secret is to play with other, preferably experienced, players. There is a lot to learn but good teachers help.

I wasn’t going to mention it, but since you did, that game is very new player friendly.

Dating.

I’ve just started eve and with the community Eve has, constantly helping helping, nudging new players into the right path, right direction etc I can say that Eve is very very new player friendly. Despite the mechanics of the game and the vast amounts of items, skills, ships and career paths to choose, if there is a able and more importantly a willing community to help guide new players then, imo, it is new player friendly.

To answer the question though, fighting games tend to be fairly inviting. Players quite often help each other to get better.

Path of Exile is pretty good, can solo for as long you want then branch out.

The safest way to play EVE is join a null sec blob where you get all the benefits of being part of a herd in a reward rich environment, so that’s probably where CCP should start new players.

Forums are not friendly to new players so this is a bad place to ask. Try an EVE Twitch. Most people here would be regulars who are defending “their” game.

WOW wasn’t always new player friendly. You use to have to run everywhere until level 40. They switched to easy mode during WotLK.

And the real hurdle for most was affording those mounts. Most people could afford their lvl 40 but the level 60…

League of Legends has somewhat nice tutorials to teach you the basic mechanics. But later you have a great chance that there is at least one person in your team that is everything but friendly in chat. Puts damps on the fun like a full squad of Maulus pilots.

Used to play that and recently wanted to play a few games again. It’s like a totally different game with stuff changed just because and no real reason at all. Really sad, it’s like a game I liked is gone forever and there is no way it is coming back.

Eve is quite hard to learn I think alot because we can see all of the game, if only in appearance, from the start. All skills, ships, locations, the “end game” virtually all aspects is visible in parallel. So probably the same overload would happen if Warcraft or Diablo “unlocked” everything from the start.

There’s also no ui addon “help” many modern games have (see cheating) so younger gamers probably struggle with a real game challenge historical games had.

Elder Scrolls Online. Hands down the best PvE themepark mmo ever and extremely easy to get into, even easier than WoW.

League of Legends and DOTA2. Geez!

During the first hour of playing, you can get PVP wins and loses, you can get kills and be defeated there.

IRacing is kind of setup to be new player friendly, though as a subscription based game + pouchaseable DLC itcan be a money pit if you don’t know what you are doing.

Honestly, I thought it was me; that my recollection of the old diablo games was wrong. I tried diablo 3 and I was like - what’s the point of playing a game that I can’t lose? It was all just mash buttons and everything dies.

Well, since dating was shot down. How about Patience.
