any thoughts on addressing current massive attacker advantage during eviction attempts?
the way it currently is, attacker can infil and establish hole control at any moment with defenders left with only option to pray for RNG and roll into the hole under attack.
this, and M structure timers nerf mentioned above, make it really hard for the corps to hold their J space, which in turn probably turns large chunk away, why bother.
whereas if smaller groups had more reasons to move into J space, so better rewards and better defence opportunities - it could have potentially led to more systems settled vs barren land the way it currently is.
Increasing reinforcement timers to M structures in wormholes to match what’s already given to nullsec and lowsec would hopefully give those smaller groups an extra 24 hours in order to batphone or at least prepare for defense. It forces the attackers to stay more active within those holes and maintain hole control for that much longer, which means that it would hopefully deter evictions from happening to starting corps in favor of finding better content.
The same can be said for adding 24 hours to hull timers on L-sized structures. The more time the defender has to call reinforcements, the better.
While adding this to my list, I also want to go along too and add that low-class wormholes should also include the same scannable asteroid field sigs that exist in nullsec. It’s a buff, but not significant enough to remove what other forms of indy such as high-class gas sites already give to high-class wormholes. Giving a slight buff the blue loot on low-class rats would also help bring some enticement to some beginner corps to start off in J-space, or at the very least match the dangers coming into each site (15.6 mill payout for a C2 Perimeter Hangar that has a 424 dps wave in it is abysmal).
The balance with all of these changes I suggest comes between “what can bring new wormholers into J-space as well as make them not be afraid of instant eviction” versus “what would buff low-class wormholes too much to the point that larger groups would evict just for the industry benefits”. I hope what I’ve said can be an answer to that balance.
The connection between EVE Online and EVE Vanguard
Do you have any expectations what that could be, how it could work? I am aware there is nothing tangible yet, but it’s rather inevitable if I red FC correctly.
I want to see Sansha incursions be integrated into Eve Vanguard in some way. Via efforts done through missions in Vanguard, Sansha’s Nation could lose influence during some of their incursions. I would love to see that be added somehow into the game.
Also wanted to add that after talking with some other folk, it was best that I no longer advocate for nullsec asteroids to spawn in J-space, as by making wormholes more like nullsec, it defeats the purpose of making wormholes unique to the rest of the universe of Eve.
Which explains why 90% of c5 and c6 space are farm holes, where the owner rolls off all of the external connections and VOCs the static connections and then solo-farms all the sites.
Or is your goal to turn WH even more into Nullsec with all of Wh space rented out to the big blue donut coalitions?
