absolutely Not.
You know damn well they were saying alphas cant use red safety.
And I was saying three days of omega for cash is a far preferable option to grinding security status by ratting or running missions (ratting).
no he doesnt, because he live in his very own little World. It’s a waste of Time discuss with this individuals.
Honestly, I’ve argued and psychologically beaten up so many people on these forums that I dont even know the topic anymore. Could you point me to what exactly you’re talking about?
says the guy that thinks he knows more than CCP itself regarding statistics of Anything at all happening in the game they programmed, host and maintain, while continuing to develop.
first, people were whining and crying that alphas could gank. now they’re whining and crying that alphas cant gank. The whole dod gamn reason alphas cant set to red is because of the whining and crying from non-paying players that were upset they lost their pixels.
No, but it could be used down the road, for a funding program, to claim they lost more money on R&D ( a very generic blanket term ). It makes the auditing a nightmare, when you claim you paid out wages on something virtual, then you suffered a loss from it. I am not against governments backing these video games. Iceland from what I read, makes most of its money from tourism. This game company is sponsoring an event soon that will boost that industry. I would have thought Iceland would have been a fishing industry, but who knew?
Many companies will abuse such programs using creative accounting to report a fictional loss. I am not accusing them and really hope no one at CCP is doing anything of the sort. I just don’t see this or Vanguard as viable projects for the good of Eve Online.
Fly safe o7
This. Why are people both claiming that suicide ganking is a 0.001% non-factor, but is also, some how, 100% essential to keep Eve’s economy flowing?
That’s not what people are saying. It’s a low percentage of new players that are being ganked and leaving. Most ganks are against more established players who carry way too much in their freighters and haulers. AKA, not that many people but also high value of destruction. We know that ganking affects prices, just take a look at EVE Echoes…unlimited 24/7 hs grinding without the ability to gank.
When ganking stops, new players no longer matter because the game will die without the necessary destruction that ganking provides, in EVE destruction is high demain for keeping this game healthy.
That’s what this person is claiming. As if highsec suicide ganks are the only thing keeping the game alive.
Hell, I’ll even be generous and say that his super vague blanket statement covers low sec gate camps as well.
Even when combined I imagine they’re still a non-factor in terms of overall ship loss.
We KNOW that it will inflate the market though. We can just look over at EVE echoes.
Inflation is caused by isk faucets. Ganking isn’t an isk faucet, it’s a sink. Ships go boom, prices go up as demand increases. You know what leads to inflation? ISK farming. People multiboxing stormy ratting to brute force 300m isk an hour.
I haven’t played EVE Echos, but with what I know about about mobile/Chinese gaming in general, I imagine it has a massive botting problem. One person “controlling” 100+ accounts with a script that runs ratting sites 24/7.
What do you think missions do?
Yes, which acts as counter to inflation…
Which is what missions do, again.
Yes, there are bots in EVE online as well, some would argue that there are more in EO as EE has been suffering in part due to inflation (high sec carriers are like trillions of ISK from what I’ve heard).
I did not say it, I said
in EVE destruction is high demain for keeping this game healthy.
Missions are a minuscule source of ISK. They are primarily a source of LP. Regardless, anyone running L4s in highsec is making absolute peanuts in the grand scheme of things.
Inflation is when prices go up. Ships go boom = demand goes up = prices go up = inflation.
What you’re thinking of is deflation. Which is when the value of a good goes down. Such as the value of trit due to being farmed 24/7 by 100 man mining fleets.
Both are bad because they show that either demand or supply are failing to keep pace with the other. Demand > Supply = Inflation. Supply > Demand = Deflation.
ISK inflation/deflation is a separate, but still related, issue from the inflation/deflation of material goods. Unlike IRL, Eve players can simply “print” more money via rat bounties or ISK loot. ISK inflation needs to be countered by ISK sinks. Those being NPC services like taxes, LP store fees, and blueprints. These delete ISK from the game. Ideally, the faucets will be on par with, or barely outpace, the sinks so that there is a healthy flow of cash.
And it’s CCP’s job to deal with that.
Because they are a unique good that can never be remade. And, as stated earlier, when demand > supply? Then prices go up.
Is what you said. People can be nebulous with the term, so let’s keep things specific.
There is high sec suicide ganking. Which is using massed numbers to brute force an illegal kill past the CONCORD protection timer.
And there is regular ganking in low/null ala gate camps or hotdrops. While I have opinions on the dangers of other regions, we are primarily talking about new players getting their castles kicked over by suicide gankers who would think it a giggle to blow up a Venture because they’re been waiting for 15 min, and nothing better has come along. That’s the ■■■■ that needs to stop. I also think new players should be able to move things in T1 without dying, but that’s a harder grey area to balance. Ideally, the cost of suicide ganking should be higher than the value of whatever goods a new player would be hauling. Unfortunately, there are people who will haul 1B ISK in a ship with 4k eHP and a no safe way to slip past a camp or instawarp out.
These are not unique and are being built.
So a ship that is normally 1bil that goes for 1 Trillion is not healthy, again, no ganking in EE, so those high sec carriers or even T10 battleships are going for way more than their equivalent in our game. Players grinding missions and flooding the ISK available in the game is devaluing the value of ISK. New players will have to grind for years to get enough to be able to afford those shiny ships that would maybe take a month at most in our game.
what protection timer?
and again CONCORD do not exist for protect anybody
You mean an incredible low amount of new players, of which an even lower amount is negatively affected? According to CCPs own published data at least…
Doesn’t sound like a “problem”.
I mean, CCP is a business company, their primary goal is to make money. Don’t you think if their internal reviews would reveal that “ganking is a fundamental problem that does cost us twelvebazzilion players a year!”, they’d already removed it from the game?
