Separate Space for Newbies?

You cannot build build capitals in highsec, nor can they enter said space.

Wait…are you talking about Echoes? I don’t know enough about that game to make any kind of judgment about it.

In EVE, mission running is a pitiful supplier of ISK. It’s a consistent supply of targets to shoot at, yes, but it’s not inherently better than shooting rats in any other space. In fact, it’s worse because the rats in those missions have a much lower base value, as well as lacking any kind of bounty bonus.

It’s not the amount, it’s the ability to farm 24/7 with no way to interfere that ganking provides.

Correct, we are talking about Eve Echoes, which has no high sec ganking

I don’t think suicide ganking is a super high “EVE is dying“ issue where it’s causing the game to massively bleed players. I do, however, think it is far too easy and cheap an activity. Remove security tags, or make the resets a one time only mission like the Empire variations, because being able to infinitely reset Player Security makes it a pointless mechanic.

That will likely fix 99% of the issues.

you’re talking about this eve, vs the ones they are talking about, of which you have zero information.

Contract to what “leet“ pirates like to claim, CONCORD is a protection mechanic. It’s just a really shitty one that people mathed out how to bypass well over a decade ago.

Why are we talking about Echos at all? Yes, that game has an inflation issue, but, like I said earlier, it’s a separate game with its own separate situation in terms of bot farming.

You should have just left it here.

Inflation is when the value of currency gets you less product, as in currency is losing value. This is not the same thing as supply being lower than demand. That is basic economics, my friend.

No, it isnt. This is the fundamental meaning of inflation and deflation.

bingo!

Both are losses, also known as isk sinks.

I agree!

This is not a true statement for either game that is referenced in the debate you engaged.

There is no such thing. Ganking is a highsec thing, which is why concord says it’s illegal and kill the Gankster. In lowsec and nullsec, that’s just called combat.

Those players are learning, via Ganksters, that they either need to protect their castle, or stop thinking they are royalty. This is a pvp oriented video game, not a factory simulator.

As the stats above have shown, the number of new players being ganked is low. That’s not even taking into account how many of those “new” players are just new accounts of current or returning players.

How grand, you are another telepath!

Oh? Is that why there are so many people running missions, using blinged out ships for no reason? Because it’s such a pitiful supplier of isk?

While some of the information int his statement is correct, the premise is incorrect. Not only do the rats still give isk int he form of ticks, but the missions pay out as well, and Then you have LP.

Before any claims there are no ticks in highsec, i provide evidence. All the things highlighted, came after all the rats were dead. Not during killing them.

For Very little risk, without Ganksters.

You do not know how ganking is done, do you?

Those security tags, is content that players engage and make isk off of, which Gankster pay. This is how all that isk flow you don’t understand, happens.

No it wont. It will make actual inflation happen, because there would be absolutely no risk from sitting in highsec and farming endless resources. Which, also would cause massive deflation for everything that can possibly be farmed in highsec.

You are actively advocating for the complete and utter destruction of this video game, and I am not a fan of this.

Edit: Just in case you want to argue those numbers, the alt being used is skilled in industry, not combat. Doing level 1 missions, with the corp related taxes shown below. (Savings accounts)

because it is a perfect example of what happens when the things you want, are put into a game.

Then again my question like for everyone else asking for this:

You realize that ganking has been nerfed quite some time over the years? Almost all hulls have been buffed in eHP, they cannot tether any more, killrights have been implemented that can be made available for other players. Perma bumping to get a gankcrew to the scene has been removed. The resist-module nerf has been rolled back.

So, if you want to take away another thing from gankers - what are you willing to offer them in buffs in return? Really… it is quite selfish just to want to “fix something” that you see as an “issue”. Okay, you think its “too easy and too cheap”. But for others it’s a playstile. That you want to massively nerf. What are you willing to offer to gankers to keep that removal in balance? So they can keep doing their activity?

the answer is obvious. Nothing. Absolutely nothing.

This what they want to stop.

They want a risk free passtime where they make trillions of isk with no effort or risk, and of course everyone else has to just buy from them endlessly. Or, they want the game to keep buying from them endlessly.

In short, they want world of warcraft with space ships. They do not want this game.

How did this thread turn into yet another “let’s pointlessly debate the benefits of ganking” thread?

anti gankers will turn any thread into anti ganking.. ISD’s must be taking a vacation.

True dat!

So back to the topic in hand.

I’m hoping the new newbie space will at least allow yellow safety, preferably red, so we can carry out traditional EvE activities like ninja salvage, mission jumping and ganking there, or it just won’t be any good.

I hoping it’s some sort of mini FW or sov null newbies can play around in for a limited time

This has already been explained a billion times. Having to explain it for the billion and one-th time makes me think of that dungeon in Quake 2 where the captured soldiers are crying out ‘Make It Stop !’ over and over.

Your idea is cool, but like always, ppl will abuse it. (there’s some grammar mistake here, but fixing it may be worse)

Unfortunately, there’s no special EVE space. There’s only a buffer that can be built for the real new people get the grasp of the game before putting the hands on their pockets.

Any special mechanic will be abused. We gotta deal with reality, EVE player is a bad actor, beating around the bush helps no one. And saying “I’m not” is just confessing you suck at EVE or just being totally disonest.

Big, big news
Recently, some Cosmic Signatures have been spotted in the Exordium region via the Agency!
8 systems in the region have 9 signatures each
The systems are:

Aldoras
Tungna
Dranga
Mazor
Rotonos
Ligare
Pamirasu
Kanta

Interestingly, they all have the topography on the map
All these systems are in the faction-themed constellations, linking to their respective “entryway” systems but not being directly in the center of the constellation

Hope the systems are sensibly named and we don’t come across a ‘this systems name means “Something obscene” in a certain language’ controversy.

Yeah, they should have good names like Arshat, Leremblompes, Jarshitsan, J142443, and Kusomonmon.

For the benefit of others…
”This region’s only two-way connection to the rest of the New Eden cluster will be a single stargate leading to Yulai, which is currently under construction.”

I’m wondering what will happen with existing characters who still have outstanding AIR Career program tasks.

I’m also wondering if the Yulai gate camp is ready yet.
