It really is. It would take me like an hour to get rid of that LCO and warp off. Imagine it happens 10 times a day and you will spend 10 hours stuck in LCO. That is terrible.
Funny thing is, some elements present in mission sites were designed in labyrinth, spiky shapes exactly for what? Or roid fields, why are they scattered and not a single rock? wasnât that to stop you?
Why were the gates to sites designed with bumping horns on the sides and not a huge ring or a tube? why is the warp zone radius smaller than the mass radius of those gates? were these features not designed so you could die if not careful?
Wasnât that a feature of the sites?, designed for things to get stuck so the site accomplishes itâs function as ISK sink? Arenât the roids scattered so you have to navigate to them, making you an easy target for hunters?
Wasnât it part of the learning, to break some eggs for making a cake?
Not anymore?
No wonder!
I am 100% in agreement that changes to Cynoâs were absolutely needed, but the changes as implemented have some pretty big flaws.
The first and largest thing that comes to my mind was how capital deployments are nearly impossible to organize now. Imagine Testâs Oijanen deployment. Success or not, fun fights were had, and I really enjoyed that deployment. Problem is, I missed the move op up due to work and was responsible for moving my own capitals (which were suitcases for my subcapitals) on my own. I know several others were as well.
I made 8 jumps to get myself there - which at the time involved writing off a couple of Merlins - I wasnât really one to use rookie ships. Iâll agree that t1 frigates were still probably too cheap of a method, but if I had to make that trip today I would have to theoretically write off ~2.4 billion in cyno ships to make the trip one way. This is massively unreasonable, and to be frank I wonât pay it. The better option to me is not to play.
If capitals werenât moved, every fight would have been a shutdown in NCâs favor who had theirs nearby already so effectively that content would have never happened. I would be fine with writing off ~50m a jump for cyno ships, but the new status quo often costs more than the capital in question. I would really appreciate a better method for movement - maybe if jumping to industrial cynos with a capital disables your modules so it couldnât be used for combat drops?
CCP Karkur called that player story an example, and it was in specific reply to your question about being stuck on a rock or structure.
I added emphasis to key words in the quote below:
You mean easier?
Picture two hulls, one is a cap, supercap or bigger. The other is a Battleship or smaller.
Both get stuck. No matter the situation, both get fired upon, being by NPC or PVP.
Those 3 minutes are an eternity for the second hull but a potential save factor for the first.
See why in such complex game, differentiation and segmentation do matter? and why this is a good example, like the Blackout, of a generic âsolutionâ for a segmented issue?
if stuck on collidables in missions for 3 mins they are still most likely dead.
This warp in 3 mins thingâŚ
Why didnât make it per level?
Say you gain some and lose some when training.
You get Cruisers to level 3, started impervious to stuck or warp in like 20 secs or whatever.
Once you get to Cruisers lvl 4, you lose that ability.
Itâs just an example of how by putting some effort, it is possible to achieve a result according to the niche itâs destined for, and not to everyone.
But these things are too hard and no one seems to be paid enough to do so.
Industrial Cynosural Field Generator with Level V Cyno Trained requires 400 Oxygen Isotopes vs. 250 prior to the update.
The only reason many of my alts trained Cyno V was to be able to use a newb ship without cargo expanders.
With this nerf, the bonus should have been shifted to a different attribute to reduce the time the cyno is up or resists or anything else reasonable.
At least let us move the skill points off this skill on alts without a penalty.
Just want to mention that the new Emerging Conduit cosmic anomalies are great fun, and a nice challenge for solo players or duoâs in cruiser/bc class.
Thanks for implementing them.
PCU is a minomer anyhow⌠it never represented players, it represented mostly characters, a good share of which were bots and afk cloakies. PCU numbers being down is definately a good thing at this point. If it doesnât start to recover 6 months from nowâthat would be a valid concern.
So you donât understand the difference between altering something to make it even better and whining. That explains a lot.
Yes a very specific example which is very niche, as i said.
Industrial Cyno came about (according to CCP) because Cyno Vigils. Seems niche use is the current development trend.
I donât have a problem with indy cyno - I think the choice was deliberate - it works with the lore (industrial hauling ship > JF) and it fits the âchaosâ era, witness all the complaints about having to transport 20,000 m3, or fly the ship around. Yes, its tedius but this is putting ships and pilots in space, creating traffic, and some killmarks for players that like those.
Iâve read quite a few people complaining about their cyno chains being hard to establish, hard to maintain etc, Good!
Perhaps you donât really need a cyno chain?
Seems a better way to deal with the now (claimed) hideously onerous task of setting up such a cyno-based logistics chain would be to find a way to not require using such a system unless absolutely necessary.
Build your own things in the space you claim to control! All the materials are there.
That is a very valid argument. Thank you for your and your teamâs amazing work.
But, all of the materials may not be in your region, in the future. Players not needing to travel to purchase or ⌠take over, the resources of another region is perhaps partly responsible for some of the stagnation in null.
Right. The new bar does not provide any additional information.
I love Eve!!
Patience dear M0RG. Once the rifter was the mightiest ship of emâ all. Skills trained is almost never a waste, with time.
You can not afford a 800k mineral cost ship then I worry for you.
