Haha, that’s what the penalties and calculations are for - the only way you’re gonna be doing anything exceptional with this ship is if you’re overheating or using the DD, and neither of those are sustainable
I’d love to see the Eidolon and the other Directorate hulls reappear sometime - the Eidolon is still one of my favorite ships in EVE (alongside the Phantom). I’d make a solid bet they aren’t out of the running for a reappearance eventually, given some of the teases we’ve had recently (Seagull showed images of Drifters at an Observatory, the Nexus Gate room, and - most fun of all - a stargate pointed directly at Jove space during the EVE Keynote this year at FF)
Small update: I’m working on new Drifter ship concepts beyond the Battleship - the furthest progress I’ve made is on the Frigate, which I’ll continue working on and post sometime soonish~ You can see model I’ve been working on for it here, as-of-yet untextured:
When flying a Drifter BS all implant bonuses would have a zero value and would not function. The penalty should be a perfectly good draw back for the immense power that the Drifter BS possesses.
I applaud your idea whole heartedly but id like to see this be more…open ended for use. Rather than be a “non conventional” “tech 4” PvP only badassery thing maybe this could lay the ground work for t3 battleships?
I mean considering the idea you are proposing i shouldn’t expect you to have a basic understanding of game mechanics but this would make it easier to jam than if it just had 15 points.
you see you only need to jam the highest sensor on any ship to jam it. when they are all equal (like the pod) you jam if you jam any
Way to be polite But I do know that, yeah - as NPCs they have equal (but far higher) sensor strength - it’s been a while, but I’m pretty sure my original line of thought was that being able to jam them a bit more easily would be another additional drawback to using them since they’d be, well, Drifter Battleships.
Lol looks like you got me, it’s been 9 months since I posted this - seems like I’ve gained a better understanding of some things since then though, maybe I should iterate on this again
