Shuttle kill - my hero

it helps alot also a smartbomber with just more then half the IQ then most eve players knows not to aggress when a cyno is in the next system …

tackle alt. well then you just burn gate.

also you pre aline so even IF you get the tackle on him its normaly just a point and you do a moonwalk out of there.

My macs are down on 2.99sec aline speed so im gone befor you even get a lock on me…

also the guy aint Nr 1 with sin kills in all of Eve for not thinking

Hello.

Fixing this problem ( smartbombing on gates ) is easy.
CCP just needs to develop some interesting and engaging content, so the people do not idly sit on the gates, and smartbomb shuttles. Right now it is really the most entertaining content in the game.
Never did it myself, not once, but I understand, why people are doing it.
They are bored.

smart ones dont side idly unless they want to lose its ships.
got eyes in all systems so you know what is coming and from where so you can place youre self on the right ping

yet you dont, this is a majort reason to why alot to do. the amount of salt that comes with it.
ez isk and just the fun of it popping that XX Billions worth of ship, Haul and implants.

A good bomber in a good system can make very good isk in a very short aamount of time

Pretty sure you can’t align while wanting to precisely hit the ship coming out of warp. Maybe it’s tricky coordination to pull, but the km shows it’s possible. Nobody is uncatchable.

Then don’t complain. Avoiding is trivial as smart bombers sit in precisely one spot every time, therefore nobody warps gate-to-gate in the Hek-Jita pipe. Make pings.

If nobody contests the smart bomber, why he shouldn’t use the most expensive ship to do the job?

you sure? its not like i dont know what im doing

Maybe, but if you align, you can’t burn back to gate easily. Also Machariel is the better ship choice, as faster in general, and nobody puts effort in catching a sb macha.

I know the window is small, but with WCS change it should be doable, plus a 11B Marshal kill plus loot drop should be a good enough incentive.

i been tackled so many times and yet only lost 1 bomber … and that was on my end, hitting a key that normaly is my AB but bombs on my bombers and got a new aggression timer. also after the changes no its not a small window unless you land right on top also the cyno will take to long to get there ( again if you are smart and not like this guy ) Isaac Collins | Character | zKillboard

you always have eyes around you see a cyno come in to the systems around, lets just say he is in mior bombing… there you got 3 large systems around you with long warps . you so you got all the time in the world to make it out.

What is the ‘problem’ you speak of?

The only possible ‘problem’ I see is that an instawarp nullified shuttle that warps from gate to gate is almost uncatchable. This means if someone is carrying blueprints or expensive modules, they have nearly no risk at all and riskless flying should not be a thing in EVE.

Luckily a counterplay option exists in the form of smartbombing (which by itself has yet another counterplay option in the form of dscan + changing warpin direction) which allows for interactions between players.

Smartbombing on gates is not a problem and if it didn’t exist we would have a problem.

Seems like good gameplay to me. No problems and nothing that requires fixing.

People keep saying we Idly sit on gates, you’re all very wrong, when you sit still you die, always be moving…

That’s an important sentence, which reflects the mindset of quite a few people who try Eve and then try the forums. One can only appreciate the game and grow in it if one understands that there only is a single common game universe where all people play the game the personal way they want to play it and that those play styles may clash and intersect. Accepting that no one can pretend to play in splendid isolation is really the first step, not trying to change the game for anyone else.

You don’t have to be happy about losing a ship, but at least try to understand why you lost it (hint: the other player is never the reason). Then, either get even, get one over, or roll with the punches.

The ship is a tool for adventure, nothing more. It’s like ammo in a firearm when at the range, clay pigeons when skeet shooting, water balloons for a water balloon fight: it is a disposable asset used to achieve the fun, and I expect to lose it when I take it out. Are there times when I don’t want to lose it? Yes - generally while traveling to my intended gameplay. But there are far more where losing it adds to the fun (such as baiting a trap) or has no impact on the fun.

Just because it doesn’t ever feel good in and of itself to you doesn’t mean there aren’t plenty of people with a different mindset who feel differently.

Thing is, you can’t. That shuttle gets blown by 2x smartbombs and poof goes your pod - no time to respond.

Hello.

You are right, it was just matter of speech on my side, wanted to appease the person, who started this topic, that I feel his pain, wanted to look understanding.

There is no problem, you are right.

I don’t see a problem either.

And there was ZERO pain - and he didn’t catch a shuttle with no time to respond…

…I was using autopilot and didn’t care if I got zonked.

True, but there is always plenty of time to check Local, check killboards or map for recent in-system kills, and of course to dscan. You don’t cross a road without looking left and right, right ?
Moreover, smartbombs have limited range. A simple solution is to approach the gate from another angle, by bouncing off a celestial. There really is no valid excuse for getting hit on an outbound gate except haste and dangerous flying
