I may be wrong, but I don’t think any phase of warping causes invulnerability. Warp only makes it impossible to target your ship, but non-targeting weapons like smartbombs, bombs and those found on EDENCOM ships can still hit your ship or pod.
The reason warping out can save your pod is because pods align fast and can often warp before getting hit.
Yes you are wrong, there are two phases of warping that grants you invulnerability.
Right after you initiate warp.
Right after you land, considering you do not move.
In addition you are invulnerable to damage when you undock, as long as you do not move, but then if you warp then you are immune to smartbombs again. And during the after-jump cloak timer. And one special case that I won’t disclosure, because if everyone knew I couldn’t smartbomb anyone.
This is why people keep complaining about shuttle Smart-Bombing.
This game mechanic only accomplishes one thing: rage quits. Having no available method to traverse the massive Eve map safely, with one character, makes much of the map unreachable and unplayable for most players. How long do most players tolerate this? How many inactives would return if game updates made Eve playable for them?
There is only one way to find out. Telling shuttle pilots to stop complaining ain’t it.
The Salt to farm comes from the pilots who didn’t prepare bookmarks to avoid being smartbombed. Corporations even have title records for pilots who know how to avoid the worse smartbomber systems even when jumping through those systems that are heavily smartbombed .
People don’t usually say that though, they usually say don’t move BPOs in shuttles, which is actionable help and can start a conversation about how to safely move valuable assets. But instead they cry about how they should be free of the consequences of their actions and that they had no recourse of action.
How dare you insult an obviously experienced old timer, who is simply using forum alt to not get hunted by evil gankers 24/7 until he rage quits!
It is obvious that this person knows what he is talking about and has a lot of good ideas how to improve this game, starting with removal of highsec ganking.
I remember Boobook or Caldari shuttle (that image) with 1T of blueprints (at least, didn’t count researched value) getting smartbombed in Messoya.
Annd the story behind that was that those blueprints wee stolen by betrayal in nullsec alliance.
I say that it is good that smartbomb exists and that griefer met the justice.
Btw, why is that nobody us rallying against corp theft and betrayal? Do you know how many players ragequitted to that? I think that CCP should confiscate any stolen stuff from corp/alliance and return it to the right owner!
What makes you think forum posting alts have anything to do with me?
I only observe that frequently a newly created character with zero history starts posting everywhere on the forums as a know-it-all showing more EVE experience than a newbie, who more often than not asks for removal of PvP in this PvP game and uses spam rather than convincing arguments in order to achieve their obvious agenda.
This likely is not your first forum posting alt and if it is, you’re not original.
My most expensive shuttle loss over almost 21 years of play was valued at 20,050 ISK. If you undock with a large enough fraction of your net asset value that you will rage quit over its loss, you are making poor decisions.
Safely traversing the map with a single character is pretty easy, actually. I do it all the time. If you’re finding it to be a practical impossibility, I would recommend asking a more experienced player to teach you the basics.
I don’t think there is a single k-space system in the game that I would struggle to reach by myself.
What a surprise. A player voiced concerns with their enjoyment of Eve Online. Forum response:
Another “Eve Online is fine” response with “stop playing” added for good measure.
Fenris Creations makes player expectations of the Eve Online game experience explicit. They may, at their sole discretion, change game mechanics. No warranty regarding future player experience. Completely subject to change. Game updates may reduce character in-game value.
Why do some players spend so much energy attacking players giving constructive feedback? Why attack the player instead of the post content? Dishonest techniques required to counter valuable feedback. Silence them and make them go away. Too much at stake for these players. Fenris Creations might implement constructive feedback.
Sorry, looks like you are a brand new pilot and no one explained anything about the game…
“Stay in dock” is a bit of a meme, but the reality is that plenty of meaningful gameplay happens in stations, structures, and markets. Some players spend most of their time trading, industry, logistics, planning, managing corporations, or other activities where undocking is not the main focus. So now you can take a look at it from a different angle. So I will treat your weird response as just a lack of knowledge.
Also, smartbombs are not some unavoidable random mechanic that every player is helpless against. They are a known threat with counters, risks, and limitations. Part of learning EVE is understanding the environment you are operating in and adapting to the risks that come with it.
PS: It will be interesting to see the future posts once this pilot encounters pvp oriented pilots in high sec.
