I wanted to ask whether a silent mute can be realised. All too often you read in the help channel about Isk sellers who don’t rely on any response at all. So instead of having to report these players again and again, you could give them a silent mute instead of banning them. Everyone would be happy. The seller can continue to post and the other players would not feel disturbed.
To be honest, once you have all the scam- and spam-bots blocked, local becomes quite funny, entertaining and sometimes even informative. Banter in Amarr is pretty hilarious at times, and even in Jita you can derive some useful bits from local here and there. It requires some serious sanitizing efforts, for sure, but for the entertainment alone it’s worth it. In Null sec, it’s also funny how the great unwashed keep posting intel in local. Or how they try to bring you out of your shell with smack talking.
IP blocking should be a thing. Transparent to the player, but you should have the option to IP block someone. If you do, CCP save that IP against your toon server side and block any messages sent from that IP.
