Hi,
returning player here. so I want to experiment with fits. On triff.tools it shows the wormhole sites and the expected waves. they mention dps and alpha of the enemies and also peak dps and peak alpha.
How should I interprete these numbers. is it peak DPS < my repair rate then no problem? whats peak alpha? all hit at once?
Pyfa has this damage pattern feature but I can’t figure out how to apply it.
So what is the general strategy to figure out if my fit will have a chance without expensive try and error?
thanks.

I do not do wormhole content.
But I would assume you need more reps than peak dps and more buffer than peak alpha and then you will be sure to survive, assuming you rep at the right times, etc.
Correct.
Attacks in EVE simplified have an amount and a rate. The amount is the ‘alpha’ damage, while the dps is that amount averaged over time taking the rate into account. Some weapons have high dps low alpha, while others with a low fire rate can have very high alpha but lower dps.
Make sure you have enough hitpoints in your main tank layer to tank peak alpha, because even if your ship survives but alpha hits you deep into structure you won’t survive another such peak alpha hit if you can only repair shield or armor in between such attacks.
