Ever think the Blackout the skill giveaways. They might actually be trying to bring new blood and old players who left into the game, rather than the the same people who want Null themepark safe?

Exactly, its a pablum to the unwashed, who fall for these treats from the masters. Its a joke to try and offset the potential loss in Null players who will just go to another game. Unfortunately PVE grinding has never really been that big of a draw. Time vs Isk efficiency and all. Is it possible to ratt the ISK equivalent in the time it takes to grind the Skilling Spree sites?

Why would anyone try and offset the potential losses of null sec players when the blackout has just made the risk vs reward more balanced?

What agenda is that, pray tell? I was just speaking from my memories of EVE history, dude, same as you. So what, they would have kept it going forever if people hadn’t been suffering from “burnout”? Mayyybe. They were throwing a bunch of ■■■■ at the wall back then and seeing what stuck, from what I DO remember. I don’t remember this blog of CCP Rise’s you speak of, but clearly the entire daily thing didn’t offend me as much as it offended you back then, so perhaps that’s why I apparently have a hole in my memory of that. Also, I don’t read 100% of the devblogs, I suppose.
Burnout from an optional thing where you can get a tiny amount of free SP from shooting some rats, though… Sounds like a bunch of market alts and PVPers who refuse to PVE on principle complaining about having to shoot a rat a day to keep the doctor away or else feel like they’re being left behind by the Joneses.
Look, I personally don’t need CCP to engineer reasons for me to log in and undock, I do it 340+ days of the year already in either HS or WH space currently, so clearly these efforts aren’t aimed at me, they don’t need to be. And the only effect the blackout has had on me is when I pop into a nullsec system from a WH, the locals no longer see me in local and can look up me or my corp’s zkill or whatever, which is nice.
But on a related note: Do I miss the old events, even the ones we complained about at the time because they weren’t as good as the ones from months or years before? Sure, I do. I even miss the events from last Halloween and Christmas, as they were miles better in retrospect than the Valentine’s Day event, despite their mining-to-make-skill-accel flaws in common.
This Skilling Spree micro-event right here, let’s call it… doesn’t even have a spot in the agency window, and has one task per toon per EVE day and no “points to gather to get a skin/skill accel” or whatnot… so for me, it’s gonna be filed under N/A in the “how good was each event” mental checklist. Apples and oranges.

The bug in receiving SP also denies you access to the following days quest it seems. My toon is stuck with “Unallocated Skill Points Added” still after today’s reset! 60K SP missed so far 
Any update on a Fix?

Character stuck on “Unallocated Skill Points Added”, same as everyone else. Happened yesterday, I figured they would have it fixed at downtime.

Was you actually ‘playing’ the game for 14 hours though or just watching Netflix with Eve in the background. The game feels like it might be moving towards a more active play style. It’ll be hard at first when you’re not raking in billions for nothing but the whole economy is going to adapt. Give it time. You might just find that your 2 hours of actual gameplay earns you more than hours of grinding like a bot.
The SP event will hopefully ease the huge gameplay and economic changes.

I have a character suffering from exactly the same problem. I expected it to be fixxed by DT but not only that didnt happen, as i dont even see any officlal post about it… should we petition this?

One of my alt have this issue as it just show unallocated skillpoint added does not go to the timer window next. Most likely this is ingame bug .Hope they fix it soon wink wink XD
