But as losing is my default position, I guess I dont like attempting anything unless I have a high chance of success and I hold that follows for most people, esp. in business, warfare and all those other things EvE attempts to simulate.
Some are defended, some are not. It is far more fun, and more of a challenge, when it is defended and the station owner at least makes some attempt to save their structure.
The problem is you get a lot of 1 or 2 man corps that set up structures with no hope of ever being able to defend them. And really, that is on par with leaving some 3bn ship sitting there with no weapons. What right minded person would not attack such a thing ? If people don’t want to lose their 2 man corp structures…they have the option of becoming a 100 man corp and flying in Tornados or whatever to defend, which is precisely what we encountered a week or two back.
The ‘defenceless’ structures are such because the owner chooses not to defend them…either by not turning up or by just being too weak. This is very much on par with gankees who choose not to apply self-defence and ganker avoidance rules.
But as for structures, I have zero sympathy for people who put up an expensive structure they cannot or will not defend.
Some are abandoned, with even the core taken. Some have 100 man defending fleets that show up in Tornados. It’s quite a mix…and nonsense to suggest that all that’s targeted is abandoned stations. It ranges from long abandoned 1 man corp stations, all the way up to well defended targets where Blackflag or other corps from Absolute Order join in.
As it happens…my other alt ( Cilla Cybin ) is looking to join the lowsec bashing corp within AO, and I already have an alt exploring and engaging in nullsec from Solitude, and a separate ganking alt. I have an extremely diverse Eve…mining, hauling, ganking, station bashing, PvE, PvP, and other activities I can’t mention.
By contrast with which you are the one with the boring Eve.
Lol…no, I don’t do any mining as Altara and don’t even have mining ships. Cilla Cybin does a little bit of mining, but mainly I mine as ( redacted ). And Lucas is wrong to think Aiko would not gank my miner, or that I am in league, as she does not know who my miner is.
Well that is very nice and you are very skilled, but we both know that you are suspect baiting within station dock range for a reason. And we both know how this works - not attacking back if you still have suspect flag on and instead docking continuosly until the suspect flag is gone and you know exactly who can and who cannot fight you.
I know that you are sometimes taking the fight when you still have suspect and anyone can shoot you, but most of the time you know your tank will hold so if it goes wrong you stop fighting and dock.
Or you run speed tank and burn away.
I am not saying that what you are doing is riskless or that you don’t sometimes fight someone who looks stronger, but you too, just like the rest of us, are attacking weaker (by any means - pvp experice, fit, ship class) that you know you will beat and using game mechanics to avoid dying uselessly.
I see you daily and I didn’t see you taking a fight against other baiters using battleships. Of course I might just missed it - I don’t always look and I am not 24/7, but please don’t pose as “I fight other players with disadvantage” as that is not true. There is a reason why you are 90%+ efficient at Jita, but about 50% in lowsec.
