Solo Ganking?

Have been finding myself getting bored with eve again. Usually I’d just take a break, but I thought maybe try something new. Is solo ganking still a thing? What ships would anyone recommend for this sort of thing? I don’t even know if this is feasible. Any advice would be appreciated.

Artillery tornados can one-shot badly fit T1 haulers and blockade runners.

Smartbomb mallers can one-shot Leopards mid-warp.

Miners like Hulks are tough to gank solo without multiboxing after the EHP buff to barges and exhumers, FC only wants you to gank the newbies in Ventures and Pioneers. I do not know if FC realized they made that choice when buffing the Exhumers.

You might still be able to find an Exhumer with zero tank modules to gank though, HS is safe enough that people still try that sort of thing. I don’t know what ship would be good to gank one solo, I tend to kill Exhumers outside HS only. Maybe a cheaply fit battlecruiser or bomber has enough dps?

Oh definitely a loki

Thanks for the tips I’ll probably have a look at tornadoes and hope for a good target. At least it’s something to do. :stuck_out_tongue:

popping things with 'nados is fun, but really you should try and find a few mates, 4-5 ruptures or 10-15 catalysts really widen you engagement profile.

Rapiers are fun

The maths don’t add up → concord always wins.

Tornado is prob best bet as mentioned in 1st reply, but it’s very narrow profile. Also, you kinda need to loot for profit, so “solo” is not possible unless you yeet for giggles. Optimally you’d have at least 1 scanner and 2 nados and a looter, so you are sure to take out most and have that double tap if 1st volley fails.

If you want to go for BR, scanner won’t do anything, but some scout is nice and positioning will be key, you prob want to be in known hubs where they offload loot, and gank on arrival, but you may face competition from established locals … Doing it around gates etc, and not on those stations, is a bit of hit and miss, as you will get lot of empties that just happen to be around and lose isk overall.

Actually it is with a looter alt

Or teaming up with a rookie who’s looking for some excitement and ISK. As the worst can happen to the thief is its cheap ship gets blown up while being a suspect, there’s nothing of value at risk. No sec status loss for example nor standings loss to NPC corps.

And later if skilled enough (both as a player and as character) can also perform combat probing, or going around looking for targets and providing warp-in points as a fleet mate or in the form of bookmarks.

I guess could also perform other useful tasks as well.

Nado for larger targets and broader spectrum. Thrasher for smaller stuff.

You do kind of need a scanner or looter alt though for most things unless as previous people have said you just want to watch the world burn.

Thanks for the suggestions, I kinda took it for granted I’d need a second account for scanning targets. I’ll get myself set up and post any successes/faliiures for posterity

This character used to use a highly skilled thrasher to double tap covert ops in high sec with a gnosis pilot as remote sebo and looter.
