@Cael_Caderu I think that is similar, maybe even a little less than previously. I looked at your KB and saw some kills in and around the time I am on so I threw in an application anyway.
@Giddy: Got sidetracked by a brawl with Spoopy Newbies tonight, but I’ll take a look at your application as soon as I can.
@Cael_Caderu thanks, I spoke to Kak the night before last, he said put in an application so I did so, I checked just now (just before leaving for work) and all 6 apps are still pending.
Did you know? An interceptor that has established point-distance orbit around a battlecruiser will take essentially zero damage from HAMs and unbonused light drones. A paint might help you apply, or a long web, but having at least one ship with RLMLs that can chase off long point tackle is a must for any roaming gang. (If you scroll through our lossmails, you can watch a fleet I led learn this the hard way.)

One of the most important things to find in a corp is a group of people that you enjoy hanging out on comms with. Content often happens when you aren’t expecting it, but only if you’re around to notice.

I don’t usually post kills here, but check this out: https://zkillboard.com/kill/79859253/
Special nod to our new member Vartan who flew a Sabre for the first time ever to help keep tackle while we were scrambling to get some Guardians and Drekavacs ready.

PPS: zkill lies. We had 3 Sabres initially, and a second guardian that didn’t get on the killmail.
Did you know? An “End of Life” wormhole has less than 4 hours to go until it closes. Most mapping systems will mark the time when you first jump a wormhole, so if you roll a new wormhole and jump it immediately, you know exactly when the hole will close. This can let you find fights through holes that others may not want to jump.

Did you know? Many capital ships carry an energy neutralizer that can completely drain the capacitor of a tackle frigate in one shot. If you’re fitting up a ship designed to tackle capitals, consider including a capacitor booster so you can immediately turn your disruptor/scram/prop mod back on.

Did you know? When jumping through a wormhole, you spawn somewhere between 3km and 15km from the hole in a random direction. There seems to be some variation based on the size of your ship, with bigger ships spawning farther away. If you plan to bubble the wormhole, make a bookmark and approach the bookmark so that your bubbler is in the actual center of the wormhole rather than “at zero” on one side.

Winter break is arriving for a lot of folks in school. Schedules get wonky, but it’s a good time to try something new. Why not give us a try?

Did you know? If you double-click on a packaged ship in your inventory, it assembles. If you double-click again, you’ll board it. (I may have just learned this today.)

Happy holidays from SOUND!

I haven’t played EVE Online since July 2016, when I was a member of Reasonable People. I recently started playing EVE Echoes and it has piqued my interest in EVE once again.
I quit 3 years ago because of family obligations, which are not entirely gone. I can and want to play, but my online time would be limited, so I’m thinking of just sticking to the FTP (Alpha) until I’m sure I’m willing to subscribe.
Does SOUND have doctrines for Alpha players? Are they welcome? Is FTP even a thing still?
Free to play is definitely still a thing. Unfortunately, Alpha clones are a bit too restricted for any kind of reasonable wormhole life, especially the lack of a cloak, so we do not have doctrines for Alphas. However, if you do decide to resubscribe, we do understand the needs of real humans and real life, so it’s usually easy to join in when time allows.
Good luck and welcome back to EVE!
Thanks,
I particularly enjoyed scanning and mapping out the wormhole chains looking for targets. Having dug deeper into alpha clones, I realize that the scanning skills and covert-ops (?) skills I trained wouldn’t be in full effect, so FTP doesn’t seem so appealing anymore.
I suppose subbing isn’t really that prohibitive.
Thanks Kak for covering for me while I rebuilt my PC. It’s crazy how an EVE community can continue to be my home even if I’m unable to play the game. SOUND is definitely that kind of community.

Did you know? The k-space connections in drifter wormholes can’t be warped to directly. You’ll land about 85km from the jump point. However, the warpin is always in the same direction from the wormhole, so by warping in at range from just the right direction, you can actually land directly on the wormhole!
