To me these depots are of no consideration. Most are in game ads for a wide variety of BS. I think CCP should capitalize on it, create a sell a new item for these spammers. Sell or rent them billboards. I have seen these depots used to advertise corps, 1 M SP offers, Hypernet, scams, and even a cluster over in Amarr in the shape of a bat signal. I really don’t see them as “pests”. Clutter? Yes, but not pests. I guess, if one attacked me, I would call it a pest, but we all know that would be impossible.
I have dropped jetcans as warnings to gate camps. Those are free and self cleaning.
I think they get free omega for a week, if their recruit goes omega? Most people serious about recruiting just post it on their YouTube and Twitch videos. While I did collect 1 M SP from a YouTuber, they never collected from me. I did like and subscribe though.

too many of them can cause lag issues, which goes against the ToS. one alliance had to shut down due to all the recruitment spam evemail…
Remove RF from mobile depots and just make them harder to probe down.

i’d love if there were a way to create Corp projects involving killing those … that would encourage corp members to reinforce them … but i have not yet figured out how to do this.

the RF timer is for -on grid- depots . when you’re dropped on in null-sec , you strip your ship and put mods and valuables into the depot before you blow up .
if the attackers blow up your depot before it anchors , you can petition it as a bug and ccp will replace everything lost , including billions in harvie drones replaced to this ‘bug’ ;p
funny you mention that, as one of the spammers i usually engage with actually claimed the “bug” as well … threaten to report me haha … i found that to be funny AF …
there is no real bug, you just have to get below 25% shields … which 2 torpedos will do just fine
