If you really believe this, then why are you complaining about unconsenual PvP? I’ve been primarily a PvE player for over a decade and have been a “victim” of unconsenual PvP a few times. Did I go on the forums and complain about it? No. Did I send hate messages to my attackers? No. I picked myself up, dusted myself off and thought about what I could do better in the future.
This is a PvP game that just so happens to have PvE elements. Remove the unconsenual PvP and the risk and even PvE’rs will get bored rather quickly I should I think. There is a thrill to doing dangerous things and surviving.

for me, the risk/reward comes from any encounter with entities that have warp inhibitors, this is the very first time ive ever interacted with a forum post because of people being ‘rude’ and stealing site bosses without putting in any of the work to help complete or offer to fleet up for joint completions. PvE can still be plenty challenging and rewarding for those who enjoy it, i play like a hoarder and like having an absolutely sickening supply of everything i can get my hands on, for 20 years that has been rewarding and fulfilling to my wants in video games. i played over 8k hours on ark/space engineers, alone on a singleplayer server that i bought just for me. personally if the game is well made like Eve is, the risk of players ill will is only a negative. i just know that id personally would enjoy eve alot more if hi-sec was actually safe is all. i know thats not what everyone would want, but its what i enjoy, so i just speak my mind on that and listen to what people have to say about it, causing me to think more and introspect on my reasons for believing in what i do. its not attacking anyone or hateful to have my own set of beliefs even if they dont align with a majority of people, especially considering its all based on emotion vs productivity. in a perfect world we wouldnt need video games or any form of escapism right, so me having opinions on how a game should be made is literally worth nothing even in my own eyes, i just like talking to people about it. and the ones who can calmly retort with their own points, try to be helpful and understand what im saying without turning it into a personal attack are people who id like to be friends with. and i like meeting new people so this is just another avenue for discovering more chill people even if they arent like minded. the thrill for me comes from other things, and gaming is just a relaxation tool as far as im concerned. i just like putting up my thoughts and ideas and seeing who bites is all. its not coming from a place of contempt or hatred. i cant get bored because of why i use video games. i could play minecraft alone on peaceful for literally days on end if i didnt have other responsibilities. doing dangerous things just means i didnt make the right decisions (by my own standards) to avoid conflict while putting myself and the people i care about forwards. play the game however you like ofc, i cant stop anyone from doing anything in reality xP i dont see spouting my own opinions as complaining, nor do i see anyone else concerns or experiences as complaining. people say things for a reason that matters to them, and for me its soothing to put my thoughts into words and type out these long blurbs that mean nothing to anyone but me and see what happens. i just dislike bullies and thieves in any capacity, an am not shy about saying as much. and anyone who condones taking enjoyment from someone else to create their own is scum in my eyes, but that doesnt mean i hate them xP or can realistically do anything about it without trampling my own beliefs on the subject 
worth noting that this discussion started off in an ingame chat, and when the link to the post was shared, knowing it would be heated i decided that talking here as well would be enlightening or entertaining for me, and was not disappointed. i didnt just brows the forums looking for the first carebear hottake and start bitching xP

Then you don’t love the game. You don’t actively have to participate in direct PVP but you HAVE to accept and agree to the competitive nature of EVE, if you don’t then you don’t love the game. It’s like saying you love football but this whole thing about two teams competing for a win is just dumb, that’s the core of the game.

i understand that its a part of the game, nothing says i cant enjoy everything else about it tho xP nothing is perfect. i love lots of things that also have things about them i dislike. nobody gets to decide for me what i do or dont enjoy. i can pick out things in every single game ever made that ive loved and find something about it i dont like. ive been very successful in avoiding pvp interactions for the entirety of eve’s existence, i dont have to love literally everything about something to feel love towards it, i would consider that to be blind love or close mindedness if i did personally. as again, nothing is perfect.
i do like the test server Aiko Danuja, but i enjoy progression and not being able to just have everything without working for it, so its not really for me. its cool for testing out the new stuphs and gathering for dev events, but thats about it.

You are the toxic individual here. Nobody has called you scum, but you are calling other people scum, attacking their real-life identity because you don’t like the fact that they are playing the game as the developers intended.
Furthermore, by your own definition, you are scum! You want to take away other people’s enjoyment of PvP, just so you can play without PvP.
Well, then you are gonna love EvE Online, because you will have to work a little harder to progress. Good luck capsuleer!

i never said remove all pvp lol, you must have missed something i merely stated that id enjoy the game more with pvp regulated to anywhere but hi-sec, and think it should be that way. much different then bullying newer or peaceful players and being rude trying to steal sites and events xP taking anything from anyone who didnt agree to or want anything taken from them is scum behavior. and ill stand by that until the day i die. if advocating for the removal of bullying makes me scum by that definition then so be it. still believe in my heart that having fun at the expense of someone else is wrong fundamentally. i undock knowing that i could get into a fight at any moment, doesnt mean i have to like it, and doesnt mean i cant love the game for everything else it offers me, since there are also plenty of nice and helpful people out there along with trolls and haters xP
if a school bully is disciplined for forcing little timmy to give up his lunch money, are the teachers scum for forcing the bully to change his ways? no, because bullying is wrong

Did you miss the multiplayer in MMO ? If you want to do stuff without any chance of anyone interrupting, stick to single player Homeworld.

it wouldnt be called a courtesy if it wasnt rude/mean behavior xP regardless of the game being designed to allow it, doesnt mean its something you should do. and i dont need help understanding that taking advantage of anyone for any reason would make that person scum in my eyes, for all it matters xD

i love homeworld! and i play with others often in Eve as well, dosent mean its always pvp oriented xP lots of games have multiplayer with consensual pvp haha
Your ‘consent’ in Eve consists of undocking. I don’t have time or patience to go through lengthy consultations with a lawyer before ganking you. The minute you undocked you formally stated that you were ready for anything.

both teams and both players/teams are playing those games to be competitive, they all want to compete with eachother to win or lose. eve for me isnt that xP keep trying.
Yes, you are not like the players/teams that are playing the game, having fun, and being competitive. You are more like someone who runs unto the field in the middle of the game, and sits there whining about everyone else and demanding that they let you sit in the field by yourself. That is antisocial narcissistic behaviour, and I truly hope you talk to someone else about it. xP keep trying.

well i avoid pvp and still have plenty of friends ingame and irl, so you missed your mark there unfortunately. youll have to approach this from a different angle if you are trying to convince me of anything ;/ im not trying to convince anyone of anything, just speaking my mind about a video game after all. also never once said i dont shoot back, im not starting covos with people attacking me i stand my ground and say GG in public when im killed, still doesnt mean i enjoy it xP
This is precisely why people should engage in multiple types of activity in Eve. I do mining, hauling, ganking, station bashing, and other stuff. When you do more than one thing in Eve you start to see how all is perfect karma.
