Stealing kills in the event combat sites

I think you have a warped sense of the meaning of courtesy (i.e., that it only applies to other people). If you want to launch into a wall of text screed about how EVE ought to be, then be my guest. But start a topic of your own in which people can choose (or not) to participate. Don’t de-rail some other guy’s topic to discuss the thing you want to discuss. While not against the rules, it’s no different than ninja-looting an event spawn (which is also not against the rules, but you seem to think is rude and anti-social behavior).

All that said, I’m getting a serious troll vibe here. You’re either narcissistic, obtuse, or you get off on pulling chains. Not sure which, but I’m out, regardless.

all posts are optional, nobody gains anything unless they are here looking for help. the original question was weather or not stealing the boss kill was a dick move, that was answered within the first few replies, literally the entirety of the posting after that was just about other things that popped up in conversation related to how people get treated in the game in general, being an offshoot to the question of people being dicks, or direct replies to people. and wrong on all three suggestions, i just enjoy talking to people, and i enjoy talking in general. my favorite pastime is having long ass conversations about everything with friends family and my partner. literally just turning off the tv and talking wholeheartedly for hours on end. there is no negative context on my end, its just thoughts from everyone. i like reading and responding to everything. i dont consider myself a troll but anyone can consider me as whatever they like for all it matters. as long as people choose to take the time to respond to me ill choose to respond to them as well. as ive said before, you are under no obligations to like what i have to say, and im not so self obsessed to think that anything i type here even deserves to be read. yet here we are. having a conversation xP

It’s the same thing again: lazies and dumdums wanting equality of outcome.

To add something constructive to the topic: Easiest way to “stealing kills in the event combat sites” is to enter the site in a 720mm Artillery ship (Loki, Sleipnir) and just do nothing. Wait for the other(s) to kill all the stuff, lock the Boss und alpha him once he is in half hull. Lock the wreck, tractor beam it while moving away from the other guy and the chances that he could even try to grab it are pretty low. 95% won’t dare to go suspect anyway. Have fun.

Back on topic: It’s probably fair to say that almost everyone has had kills stolen in event sites. It’s just friendly rumble and tumble, see who has the better fit, damage application, a harmless competition between - what should be - equals who chose to roleplay in a dystopian setting. But if even miners can fight over an asteroid, sure, others will fight over a silly event npc.

I’ve never done an event.

Hehe, you are definitely not “almost everyone”

Since the beginning of the internet?

You can happily play farmville and have no conflict at all

entering the combat site should trigger a suspect flag (flashy yellow). that should solve the problem.

What’s “stealing”?

A lot of you seem to have liked my previous story: image

Well, I now bring to you Russkiy Rage 2: Electric Boogaloo!

The translation for the mail chain is below:

Well-Adjusted Mining Professional: You are scum…
Belligerent Undesirable PvP Scumbag: ???
Well-Adjusted Mining Professional: in just 1 minute you’ve caused me so much grief…I’m sure that you’re a hideous piece of garbage with a shameful character. You didn’t get f___ed enough, and that’s why you’re so angry.
Belligerent Undesirable PvP Scumbag: Sorry, I don’t speak Mongolian. Can you translate?
Well-Adjusted Mining Professional: (via translator) Don’t make a fool of yourself, you’re all miserable, you understand perfectly.
Belligerent Undesirable PvP Scumbag: Understand what?
Well-Adjusted Mining Professional: Understand you’re such a miserable piece of trash, that the moment you spot a d__k, you start gushing instantly.
Belligerent Undesirable PvP Scumbag: Are you asking me out on a date?
Well-Adjusted Mining Professional: [T]wo drug addicts will invite you on a date - one will beat you, the other will f___ you in the a__.

What a class act!

But that’s not all!

Apparently, this particular gentleman is a coveted repeat customer. I will paste some choice bits from Aiko’s blog so you can get a little morsel of a taste before getting the full-course meal from the links below:

(This was two years before I made “technical adjustments” to his Astero. Looks like he hasn’t gained his strength quite yet.)

Well-adjusted members of EVE’s venerable and respected anti-PvP community will be absolutely ecstatic to know that this player wasn’t sanctioned in any way for their, let’s say, somewhat unconventional viewpoints. In fact, I did a little bit of research, and apparently his ships were expediently reimbursed by a certain frozen treat-loving game master, who is sadly no longer with us:

They say that justice is blind, but I for one am happy that our justice can see just fine who the true victims and who the reprobates are. Here’s to another two decades of the meek inheriting New Eden, and the griefers being given the stern but fair discipline they so crave, whether by virtue of patch changes, GM action, or well-written missives from the targets of their unjust abuse.

Together we can crush the PvP scumbags, and make EVE a more fun, equitable, and enjoyable experience for all!

Ah yes those friendly carebears, completely normal and well adjusted human beings. Unlike those nasty pvpers though because those are the real scumbags, probably terrible irl as well.

Absolutely this.

It’s the Eve way. If you don’t like somebody’s actions, make sure they suffer the consequences.

Setting aside how things ought to be and focusing on how they are:
If you have too much competition, go somewhere with less competition. The universe of EVE is big. There are a great many systems with literally nobody in them, in highsec and lowsec.
