Where do you see those? I’ve never seen them around. Seen cards for XBox or PS, some others, but debit cards? Never.
Make sure you checked all your accounts for the PLEX, also those that you might not be using at the time. The PLEX has to have ended up somewhere. I’ve heard of PLEX ending up in unused accounts or in non-steam accounts (or vice-versa), but the NES is secure and should verify purchases. If in the odd chance the PLEX really didn’t end up anywhere, that should be traceable via logs. If even that isn’t the case, you are either lying (not suggesting you are) or you really have been stolen from - in which case you’re indeed better off playing something else.
They are pretty easy to get, just search “pre-paid card”. I dunno if it would help OP, I mean, I thought he’d got sorted anyway.
But yeah, I used to have a Paypal card that worked like one too, so I could just buy my smokes at the grocery store with my paypal balance.
EVE Online is a game where it is encouraged to find new and creative ways to attack people. Some of you have confused the game with the forum.
Where did I ask for sympathy? And how does explaining my credit card blacklisting in Japan help resolve the issue of people missing their plex or get it delivered? It doesn’t. Its OFF TOPIC. Its also a long story and guess what? Sometimes the authorities are dead wrong and corrupt, and honest people like me get punished because they have power and we don’t. Stop trying to weasel an off topic story out of me. Stop crapping on my thread. ALL OF YOU.
If you have no helpful comments, comments that 1) help me and others get the plex we ordered through Steam that never came 2) explain technical details of why the fail happened or 3) have some ideas on how to make this method not fail, then kindly take a seat and be silent.
Because it was off topic.
STAY ON TOPIC
No. It absolutely does not. You do understand that its not a physical item? That is like saying that in game wrecks must have ended up somewhere after downtime. Its not how computers work. Computer generated “items” disappear all the time.
A major issue here is that (as far as I can tell at this time) one company says they have records of a successful purchase and the other has no records of any kind of purchase at all. I cannot sort that from here. Only the two companies can sort that. And guess what? It is entirely possible there is no log of anything going anywhere. Its like trying to send a fax to a number with an unplugged fax machine. That fax had to go somewhere?? No it didn’t. It hit a brick wall and all the electrons went their separate ways.
The problem was resolved by CCP staff putting the Plex into my account.
I was not given extraneous detail but was informed that there was an internal error between Steam and CCP.
Thank you CCP for taking positive action! This is probably the first time I have ever had a positive experience with any online customer support!
Next time I need to PLEX up I will be buying it directly from the EVE Online Store using my Steam funds. And once that is done I will come back here to report on how that went.
Thanks again to CCP and to those who actually posted helpful comments.
Glad to hear it got resolved. I can imagine how frustrating it is.
There are plenty of other games out there that do integrate nicely with Steam’s platform (though I know Planetside 2 has similar issues to Eve).
I’d like to see them (Steam) bolster their support and documentation so there’s absolutely zero possibility that using that function can be an issue unless a developer/publisher fails to use it correctly. These are transactions between two companies… and it’s really awkward to make two companies (let alone two companies that are outside of your country?) talk to each other to fix it.
So they resolved the issue underlying the error also?
I’d appreciate you not talking to me like I’m an idiot. I took the time to respond in hopes of giving you some peace of mind, so I don’t think I’m deserving of the tone of your response there. I understand that this has been a very traumatizing experience for you, and it will take years of struggle and expensive counseling to recover from it, but please try to approach people with some degree of respect next time. Jeez.
I don’t think they know what it is so no, I don’t think that got resolved. But I suspect the issue could be caused/ related to two things on the user end that was not accounted for during programming. 1) the fact that two accounts often wind up in one launcher…a stand alone account they want to keep using and a steam generated account they only created to get plex and don’t really want, causing a conflict or confusing the Steam client or system at CCP and/or 2) some computers (perhaps due to age and lack up updates) forcing the user to launch EVE manually rather than automatically through the Steam client (perhaps creating the disconnect since it probably depends on Eve launching via the “play” button on the Steam client). That said, I have doubts about choice 2 because I am pretty sure I got my plex even when I had to launch manually. Then again the steps I took in doing so may have changed. For example I sometimes click that play button even after manually launching.
So does that mean you are going to transfer your EvE account from steam to just through ccp and set up something like a paypal/billpay account to buy gametime directly from ccp rather than faf about with steamEvE?
Since the issue has been resolved, I’m going to close this thread now.
