The second paragraph contradicts your claim of irrationality. Even the notion of algorithmic trading indicates you writing gibberish. Algorithmic trading follows an algorithm–i.e. it is rational. It may not be an optimal strategy, but there is a program there that is being utilized.
Thats just it. Its not rational.
Especially not when these differently calibrated algorithms start triggering each other across the market.
It works if you have enough gravitas/capital to keep ahead, but its incredibly inefficient compared to doing your homework and actually understand what you are buying/selling, and whats happening, rather than reacting to the market (of idiots and contra-acting algorithmic trading with its arbitrary triggers).
Whatever, there is no getting through to you. An algorithm is rational by design. Even triggering other algorithms can be factored in.
Also the idea that there are only idiots out there suggests profit opportunities for the non-idiot. Your entire premise is simply just nonsense.
Warren Buffet is rational.
The market, is not.
The algorithms and their triggers are just to cover for not doing work and hitting Wallstreet bar early that day, and just make the market even more irrational.
Its like millions of idiot crabs all climbing over each other in a bucket.
That’s good because the market is not a person.
Whatever you say.
Uh-huh.
The first step would be to actually get loan contracts. Stock markets can wait - loan contracts would come in really handy at times.
If you actually had any understanding of the matter you would know that stock exchange protocols halt trading in a stock if the swing becomes too large in order to let the market cool down.
Loan contracts are impossible, and removed for a good reason.
And may i ask why thats the case?
EVE corporations do have shares and a mechanism for paying out dividends.
On the Market Discussion subforum, people have occassionally been launching IPOs selling their shares for more than 10 years.
My own corporation - EVE Museum - has had shares with outside shareholders since 2005. However, shareholders in EVE tend to be very loyal, and there is not much of a market going for buying and selling the shares, once they are out.
Loan contracts were removed years ago. My best recollection is that they were simply a promise to repay at some future date.
Advocates for the re-introduction of loan contracts (this comes up every now and again in the Market Discussion forum) usually make two points:
-
The old loan contracts were simply a promise to repay with no method of enforcement (as you might have in a real world contract) and were only used for scamming. The main positive point here is that they were a reminder to both parties of the loan.
-
When people talk about bringing them back they often mean that they would work differently to the old loan contracts and effectively could be a method to implement the current collateralised loans that can be found in MD forum. This would work by putting collateral up that is held in escrow by the game system, perhaps valued by the same mechanism that is used currently (not foolproof but there are ways to toughen that up), with an agreed duration and interest payments, etc.
The main argument rolled out against the re-introduction of loan contracts is that we have a mechanism already (MD forum collateralised loans with collat. held by a trusted third-party such as Norn or Chribba).
This could be made a transaction with NPC unequivocably trustworthy intermediary which holds the collateral, with set service fee, pending completion of contract/exchange.
