Hey everyone, I wanted some critique on an exploration build.
I basically want to go on longer expeditions, run relic, data and combat sites around high, low, null and WH space. I’ve picked the Stratios and concocted a build. I have near perfect skills for this build - but want to start off not spending a bil, so this, at around 300 mil seems a good starting point.
If I run into PVP, my first instincts would be to cloak and wait it out - else EC-600s and then get out. I’m not much of a PVP guy (maybe down the line).
Please critique and comment my build.
Can I do C1-C3? Is it wise?
Can I do nullsec sites? Is it wise?
What rating DED sites will this run?

You’re gonna run out of capacitor so fast it won’t even be funny.
Don’t be greedy, take one of the Data / Relic analyzers off and replace it with a Medium Cap Booster (or a battery, at the very least). You also don’t need a Cargo Scanner. Don’t use lasers, they’re junk and their tracking is horrific. If you want to use guns, you’re better off using Autocannons, but I’d just use Neuts/Nos.
If you want to get greedy and use Double analyzers and a Cargo Scanner, just get yourself a Buzzard since you’ll be faster and more agile as a Frigate.
I’d just go 2 Medium, 1 Small.
You’re only gonna be cycling the Mediums a couple of times to drain your victim’s cap, and then rely on the small to keep them drained (the small will cycle much faster).
I’ve learned a little secret, you’re better off picking all of the cans and not cherry picking, it’s nicer to other people
As Scoots already said, you would be better off in a Buzzard if you wanted to be quick, and use Neuts on the Stratios.
I love the Stratios for PVP, it’s been awhile but I used to use this back in the day

I just want something to run the sites (data, relic, ded) in null, low and WH.
If the stratios is not right for that, so be it - but I’d like the option of doing a DED site when I encounter one on my roams - or the odd sleeper in a sleeper relic site.
I wouldn’t place much faith in a Stratios for DED sites, however if you want a semi safe bet for null exploration, go to Providence in a cheap exploration ship to start off, Magnate/Probe etc. We don’t shoot people unless they’re red to us, so you could semi safely run your sites.
If you aren’t red to us, and you get blown up by one of us, they replace the ship loss.
There are other entities here that don’t follow the NRDS life though, so be careful. But it is still a safer bet than other locations.
But anyways, Cheap ship, learn the area a bit, then grab an Astero. If you’re around enough, you can be set blue and added to access lists for our jump bridges.
As for the DED’s, you can do 5/10 and even 6/10 with the right strategy but it’s very slow and you need a 4th tank module. I don’t recommend doing a 6/10, took me an hour and a half to do the blood raider one.
This is the fit I’m using to run 5/10, I still have to overheat my reps in the last room. For the 4/10 and 3/10 this is way overtanked, you can use 3 DDA, 1 rep and 1 EANM.
