You could use containers that you rename and have the same effect, or you could set up inventory filters…

What ISD Traindriver mentions is what many others do.
In case the player isn’t sure where these can be located.
A variety of Containers can be found listed under the Structures / Deployable Structures.
Station Containers in particular are MASSIVE, an cannot be relocated without using the largest cargo hauler. So if you plan to make use Station Containers for compartmentalizing your personal inventory, then you should buy a Blueprint an build them at that station.
There are smaller Containers which can be transported by the smaller haulers, allowing players to move entire compartmentalized inventory to the hauler without needing to offload to a new location without needing to resort/structure your stuff.
