Conduit salvage used to be more like 10 or 20 mil ISK per site, but the value of the salvage is way down due to overfarming by players and bots (mostly bots, let’s be frank) alike.
So yeah, salvaging the regular ol’ orange salvage out of the event GG sites is way more profitable than salvaging Emerging Conduits atm.
Most people MTU the wrecks together to loot them, too, so in my experience most sites with wrecks still present will have most of the wrecks clustered together so not being able to tractor them (as they’re yellow, though I’ve seen some abandoned blue wrecks in multiple dead sites as well, thanks!) is not an issue at all!
Having done plenty of data and relic sites, I really would like it if there were more differences between the two than the loot you got and the module you used. The idea of rooting through a derelict ship or abandoned structure for valuable components doesn’t really fit with the hacking minigame relic modules use.
As for the idea of “salvage” missions…well, when fighting my way through deadspace pirate bases I see a lot of structures that they set up for their operations. Maybe after the site is cleared it could turn into a salvage site that players could root through for parts or pirate data?
Or maybe CCP could just repurpose one of the old, obsolete probes from previous scanning systems for use in scanning down wrecks? Some of them haven’t been removed from the database yet. If folks running sites aren’t interested in salvaging the wrecks they leave behind I’m sure there would be a niche for people who are. It would even give exploration frigates’ salvager bonus a real purpose!
I really don’t see a wrong here. if you do then “that’s just like, your opinion, man”, not a fact. that’s just how video game economics work, there is always inflation due to the players actions.
and so far no one has even tackled the question of how this would actually be implemented. right now this is just a rough idea that people might or might not find interesting enough to develop into a full fledged concept.
