Explorers,
With the introduction of the latest Sisters of EVE vessel and its environment-based bonus effects, I started wondering why this elegant mechanic isn’t present, at least in smaller form, across the rest of the SoE fleet.
From a roleplay and lore standpoint, the Sisters have always pushed the frontier of adaptive exploration technology. Their ships respond to space the way a living organism responds to its environment: quietly, subtly, but meaningfully. Carrying that philosophy into the existing hulls would reinforce their identity without turning them into monsters on the battlefield.
Proposal:
Add reduced-strength “Environmental Bonus Effects” to all existing SoE ships.
-
Frigate (Astero): 1–2%
-
Cruiser (Stratios): 2–5%
-
Battlecruiser (Odysseus – Exploration Commander variant): 10–20%
-
Battleship (Nestor – standard): 20%
These bonuses would remain exploration-oriented, not combat power creep and would scale according to the environment.
Why?
-
Strengthens the unique identity of the Sisters of EVE as adaptive explorers.
-
Gives exploration-focused capsuleers a thematic advantage without breaking balance.
-
Opens creative RP space: SoE hulls feel more “alive,” tuned to the signals and anomalies around them.
-
Provides a compelling reason to choose SoE ships specifically for deep-space journeys.
As a Signaleer who lives half his life among wormholes and ruins, this kind of small but meaningful interaction with space would make the SoE line feel even more like home.
