That seems to be an opinion and not a fact.
Given the opportunities for PvP in EvE are so prevalent, it seems at least somewhat misguided to object to it being termed a PvP game.

why do anom runners get mad when someone else comes in and out competes with themā¦in a player vs player game?
why do cosmic sig runners get angry when someone enters and takes the site from them in a player vs player game?
why do mission runners get angry when someone comes in their siteā¦takes the salvage, the loot, even their mission itemā¦in a player vs player game?
why do players get mad when their sell orders are continuosly udercut and they can never sell anything except to buy ordersā¦in a player vs player game?
the answer: EvE is a player vs player game thats why

Donāt be so silly. EVE is a hierarchical pyramid in which the apex of all mining, hauling, trading, etc is combat. The end product of all mining is the 95% of ships that are combat ships. The end product of all hauling is the 95% of ships that are combat ships. And so on with trading. The whole of EVE is a huge production lineā¦.and the product is combat.
Every single activity in EVE is part of a chain whose end is combat. To anyone who is not blind as a batā¦that means EVE is very much primarily a combat and PvP game.

The CCP devs say otherwise. In fact they say that destruction drives the economy. Just watch any Fanfest, or wait a until the one that is occurring soon on May 14-16th.

The irony isā¦.all those supposedly peaceful people like miners and haulers only get the price they do for their product because there is destruction in the game. They ultimately rely on destruction. If there was no destruction then the supply of stuff would rapidly riseā¦..which ( law of supply and demand ) means prices would fall.
Eventually, without destruction, stuff would become worthless (*). This is why one can categorically state that EVE is a game built around combat and its supply chain. There is no such thing as ājust a peaceful minerāā¦..everyone doing anything in EVE is involved in the supply chain for war. There are no āinnocent victimsā in EVE.
(*) That is also why CCP introduced āscarcity.

Im am the most peaceful and innocent player in eve. I mine and give flowers. Ive never killed anybody in this gameā¦..truthfully.
I support violence and destruction because it keeps my little tiny mining fleet afloat. I love my flowersā¦but i love my isk as well even more.

But thatās just it. You are part of the chain whoās end is peopleās ships being destroyed, yet you try to separate your part out of that as āpeacefulā. Itās like a munitions maker saying they are peaceful because they never shot anyone and they go home and give their partner flowersā¦ā¦meanwhile the ammo they make is out there in wars, etc.
Anyone who mines in EVE is just as much a part of ship destruction as the guy who presses F1.
