Suicide ganking is way too low risk, change my mind

Strange how you whine about losing 65m worth to highsec gankers….yet you don’t whine about losing 900m to highsec NPCs.

We have zero evidence you have ever undocked…let alone are qualified to comment on the quality of EVE.

That’s not a tank fit, you also need bulkheads in the lows.

Bulkheads are nice if you want EWAR mids.

But if you truly want a tank fit you’ve got to go shield. Scales better with a Porpoise’s shield links too. 164k EHP Procurer.

But if you want to push that far it’s better not to drop too much loot. A T2 hull allows you to get even more EHP while dropping less to any gankers. 209k EHP Skiff:

And then people complain when their 20k EHP barge gets taken out.

It really is a choice to fly a 20k EHP barge without paying attention.

Cargohold expanders? Really?

Are you just posting shitfits now? I’m glad that Retriever got put out of it’s misery. That pilot opted for negative tank. Do they even know cargohold expanders don’t work for the ore hold?

No, shield mids, EWAR drones, and DC+bulkhead lows is how you do a Procurer/Skiff fit that will survive a gank attempt. No miner ever sacrifices potential yield for tank.

As long as you call it high sec and enable PVP you are going to get complaints. Its like selling a heater that produces cold.

You’re still getting more EHP out of a shield tank than a bulkhead tank even in a yield fit with two mining upgrades. And shield command bursts make the difference even bigger.

Luckily not all complaints are equal. Some complaints are easily dismissed as “you must have wrongly interpreted ‘high’ security space as ‘perfect’ security space, sorry!”.

How is that working out?

I’m not saying bulkheads instead of shields, I’m saying both.

But now that I’ve thought about it, you should also replace one of the mining lasers with a remote shield repper, so you can spidertank your fleet.

Works well against people who are willing to listen to reason!

Try it in Pyfa! Shields works better than bulkheads. Those low slots serve you better for more powergrid to add another large shield extender than when you add bulkheads in those spots. That is, if you’re willing to give up yield for more tank.

The main reason to use bulkheads on a Procurer is that you can still get a sizeable tank even when you dedicate your mid slots to EWAR like scram and web. This tank is lower than a shield tank though.

Okay, now I get you. That sounds correct.

Sure they do. They’re the ones not getting ganked.

Even AI disagrees with you.

High sec is not safe. Never has been, never will be. If you want safe high sec, go play Echoes, and you too can enjoy expedition frigates costing 1 billion ISK because you can gather and sell an infinite amount of resources in high sec with no fear of losing your ship. In other words, inflation that would make Zimbabwe look tame in comparison….

Okay, so now that I’m home and at my computer, I gave it a go.

Looks like bulkheads is still the way to go. 108k EHP and you’ll need a PG implant, but since you’re a Code-compliant miner, you’ll be at your keyboard and ready to save that pod. The ORE bulkheads aren’t strictly mandatory, but it’s the least you can do for your ganker after they go through the hassle of bringing 98k worth of EM damage.

Shield commands probably would raise that EHP substantially, but I can’t be arsed to make an orca fit also just to test this nonsense with boosts.

Or just drag mine and insta-warp before they can even land on grid. 100% yield, no tank required….

I see it as a non issue. You’re either 1. To lazy to break your hauling ops up into pieces that make it not worth killing you. 2 your flying a very blingy yet poorly fitted ship. There still after profit at the end of the day and yes sometimes they will just do it for fun but if your dumb enough to get caught then that a skill issue not a game issue.
