You don’t need to have the most EHP, you just need to have more than most others. It’s like surviving a chasing bear while in a group: you don’t need to run the fastest, just don’t be the slowest.
If you fly a procurer with a decent amount of tank, even with 2 mining upgrades, and you keep it cheap/T2 you’re simply not a logical target. But if you fit fancy nonsense like Ore bulkheads you can be SURE you’re a target.
Assuming fleet mining this works just fine. Costs pretty much nothing, drops pretty much nothing, way too much ehp for gankers to care. And you still run 2 mining upgrades.

Is there not even one person who agrees ganking is “way out hand”?
I’ll agree just for the sake of argument. Ganking in this game is completely unfair. New players have NO CHANCE and I know so many poor innocent souls that have been driven from the game by toxic bullies. I’m talking about 45 year old men and truckers and former Marines who were told to buy a mining permit after their only Venture was attacked for NO REASON. There are no counterplays to ganking other than literally submitting to their list of 100 ways to stop a gank. You have to play their way in order to enjoy the game??? I wouldn’t mind ganking if they just stuck to the game mechanics, but that Aiko Danuja is a total B. You know what I mean? The worst part about ganking is just knowing that she’s having more fun than any miner could ever hope to imagine, and at their expense. At what expense to her??? Her moral soul must be so corrupted and tainted, it really says a lot about somebody who derives their pleasure from systematically hunting down and exterminating every last ship that can’t shoot back.
Princess I sort of been following your progress over the years and something seems off about you and this has been giving us the vibe that you are no longer the best you could be.
So when reading your last I/we will be agreeing with you that ganking is way out of hand.
It has hit a major roadblock, some miners are even trying to go out of their way of being ganked.
There are many haulers being protected and some even know where the gank fleet will be focused.
Your fleet’s ability to hold secrets had been compromised time and time again.
I had an interesting chat with a noob last night, who was surprised that for a mere £10 worth of PLEX he could convert it to 1.3bn ISK. That’s 3 or 4 months of mining 8 hours a day in a Venture. I’m not sure what decision he made….but at least he now knows there’s an alternative.
Nah, there’s no wrong way to play EVE. Mining gives me something to do at work and my downtime at home. I like the slow pace of it, and I can just up and leave it whenever I want. Everyone has some aspect of the game they enjoy. For example, I find making .001 ISK market trades a thousand times a day to be silly, but some people enjoy it. More power to them…
I usually gank when I’m stuck in traffic. That’s the best time, because I have a few moments to check and see if there is a miner in the belt, and I can usually complete the gank before the light changes.
Keep in mind there seems to be a right and a wrong way to solve ganking and i think people on both sides are concerned it will be done the wrong way given certain things.
