Support ships must appear among those killed, seeking support from the community

Hello everyone, let me introduce myself a little, I am a not-so-new player in eve online, I have been playing for a little over two years, I don’t consider myself old, but for some time now my attention has been drawn to the fact that the ships that can provide repair or improvement in weapons or in the acquisition of objectives do not appear in the kills or assassinations if they do not help first with some type of damage, well that because it surprises me, since I have played from mmo, mobas and many other games where the supports always appear in the final statistic of a battle or even in the internal statistics of the game, but in eve online no, on the one hand, it doesn’t seem like something unfair or a problem, but it has happened to me more than once and I don’t think I’m the only one who You have accidentally attacked your companions with your weapons in null low or wh when trying to heal them while trying to attack the target on duty in those places it does not seem to be a problem, but in faction war or FW it is, because if you still attack partner your character is left with a -1.3 prestige decrease and it doesn’t matter if you have a prestige of 3, Well, you can’t go back to FW unless you raise your reputation, as you can see, it’s a problem that can lead to loss of time and sometimes loss of money if you added omega to that character, but not only that, friends, there are many players like in all the games that They like the work of healer support or support and strategy that they would like to appear in the kills not only for risking to attack but for having healed the killer or assassin while supporting tremendous damage to kill the enemy or just their support with " “remote tracking computers” has served to win a battle. Risking a support ship to go to the front of the battle to do a little damage and appear among those killed seems uncreative and intelligent to me, but we must understand that we all want to not only appear anonymously in our corporation but also throughout the game, risking our ship even if we lose it now when at the end an FC strategist or leader of a Corporation or Alliance evaluates the battle they discover that with that support ship that was lost it would have been there until the end of the fight they would have won or at least less would have had a more dignified death, a final point the support or repair ships can support your ship from great distances, but not attack and the ships that provide support with modules such as Linked Enduring Remote Sensor Enhancer* Remote Tracking Computer enduring Alfven* Any ship can carry these modules from afar, but the repair ships are so much better used by being in the back and better choosing who to give the upgrade to. I wish you to support this proposal by supporting this forum with your comments or creating similarity. so that ccp evaluates the proposal that the repair ships appear in the kills, even at the end, indicating which module they used at least in the different kills of the game, whether in null, low, wh or fw. Thus we promote a new perhaps to play or a different type of players and perhaps even ccp will be encouraged to create a faction of support ships very separate from the omegas of the Triglavian Collective that surely more than one will have said that they already exist, but That ship is more useful as damage and its repair is not bad, but it is not as powerful as a natural repair ship, which I refer to as support-only ships. Thank you and have a good day everyone

sad part is, the untranslated version is also a wall o text.

tldr: OP wants Logi to be included on Killmails.

I’m sure there are heal per second or some repair figures that could or should end up on the zkill.

Though how much should be shown?

Could it be included in a line at the bottom with the pilots name and just some notes on how they supported?

What if it was to remote boot just via command boost, where to draw the line on n what is considered support?

So this is something i found on why this hasnt happened yet

From what I heard, Logi on killmails was possible several years ago but it severely compromises server performance. So they don’t implement it unless they find a way to do it without causing TiDi and ■■■■■■■ over the servers.

I would be fine with carebears receiving a lossmail when they fail to save their friend. However, it would lag the servers to send failmails to so many losers.

Worst idea ever

As a logistic pilot the last thing i want is to show up on kill mails. My Epeen is big enough.

Well, the implementation wouldn’t be that hard. The server can simlpy check for every ship on a killmail, if that ship has gotten any kind of remote support (messages are in the combat logs of for that client). And if so, add the supporting ship to the killmail so it shows up on the battlereport. It would make many reports at least more transparent. That some logi pilots don’t want that is no surprise.

As i mentioned above it would compromise the servers and cause TiDi which we know everybody would love to happen /sarcasm.

I fail to see any proof of that. The amount of data the server needs to work on is absolutely miniscule, there is no datasync among hundreds/thousands of clients nessessary. Earlier failed attempts to do something aren’t proof that it cannot be done. Tbh the impact of checking for remote assistance on killmail creation is nil compared to the usual work the server has to do to even maintain this universe simulation.

Seeing as how searching for bounties crashed the servers, and they can’t fix it, my guess is they can’t do any similar task either.

even one of the devs stated that the “small things” thread a lot of what we think are small QoL improvements would take a lot of work…

How about dividing up the cost of the killmail between participants?

Damage dealt is already pulled by the kill mail, reps received is stored in the same way. So it’s not like bounties it’s like damage, outside of that killmails are able to pull any hostile effect even ones that don’t do damage. It should have no difficulty registering friendly effects. It should also put no extra effort on server strain.

The bigger issue is going to be in readability of kill mails. Either needing more clutter on the page we have or adding a second page.

And (what i suspect the real issue) untangling the mess of code responsible for such an ancient system

Yah, we’ve decided to not include this. If you want to be on a killmail, try flying a real ship. It’s a killmail, not a caremail.

Is there actual evidence for that or is this just speculation? Maybe it only pulls offensive actions (weapons, scrams, etc. but not reps).

Would be useful if CCP devs actually interacted with the forums sometimes chiming in on subjects like this so we can better understand the whys and hows of such decisions and how to better contemplate feature proposals based on such details.

Are you saying the Frostpacker will not appear on your killmails for providing emotional support to you while you gank?

:smirk:
