the items are sorted by multiplication of first module, increasing. So the worst impacted types are at the beginning :

[faction] X-Type Armor [damagetype] Hardener

That gets a .738 mult to the ehp from its effect, that is a huge -26.2% ehp on that layer.

if you use two of them, the mult is therefore 0.738×0.8 = 0.59 so a loss of -41% EHP on that layer!!

This is a big nerf to Marauders seeing as they’re designed to not move and so can’t just adapt by ‘moving faster’. It’s also going to make running Burner Missions very problematic also seeing as they will most definitely be over-tuned for new resist capabilities. Does anyone even play test this content before you make these kind of huge changes?

Those metrics I spoke of show most new players don’t lose ships to gankers. Sure, if this change dramatically and there is a massive increase in ganking of newer players something should be done. But the reality is all the metrics say highsec, and the game in general is terminally boring, not too dangerous.

Mining ships do probably need a rebalance. The yield ones should pull in more, and the low APM ones like the Orca, much less. But I don’t think these slight tweaks are going to have much impact on the ganking equation. CCP’s decade of ganking nerfs were much more significant.

But yes, as always, CCP should keep an eye on the impact of their changes.

Not sure. The gain of DPS from using short range T2 guns may actually help a lot. But sure a loss of -40% rep is huge for those.

I mean the blood agent will become again impossible since the nergal won’t be able to tank it, even with 500M fit.

Well, you’ve mentioned two - the Burner bases are pretty high on incoming dps, Angel Base and Gurista Base for instance.

Your view of how the game should be played is entirely wrong this is not only a pvp game it is also a pve game, resources are obtained by doing pve activities like mining, missions, wormholes, abyssal sites, null sec ratting.

To say that you only want to force one kind of gameplay is wrong in all sense of the matter because people that do enjoy the pve aspect of the game also has to pay for PLEX to gain the full benefits of the game not only that pver’s contribute to the financials of CCP by buying plex the materials gathered from pve are also used in the economy.

Thoughts like yours are the ones that is not needed in this game, you should think your posts more thoroughly because clearly you don’t have enough knowledge of the game’s mechanics to only see that pvp should be the only thing we should do but disregard that pve activities are the fuel to the pvp activities.

Hope you understand these changes are overall bad for the pve part of the game.

angel base is not. You can easily tank it and do it under 12 min, including talking to your agent and travel (for a mission 2j away).
Without overheating anything.

Maybe prices changed a lot, but last time I checked my fits were like 700M at most.

(Yes, I already explained to people like Chainsaw and anize why their fit were sub optimal)

I think it needs to be emphasised what a moron the author of the second quote above seems to be.

Nope. The buff is for brawlers only, not for all kinds of short range T2 ammo variants, i.e. it’s for blasters but not railguns, and for ACs but not arties. This can be clearly seen by noting the specific types of ammo mentioned, which I reproduced immediately before quoting you.

Nowhere does the dev blog say a thing that indicates buffer mods might be affected. It’s all about resistance mods. Rigs and DCUs do need a clarification, but not shield extenders nor any other buffer mods, which are clearly not affected by these changes at all.

That’s not what will happen. What will happen is that resist mods that now have a 55% attribute will have a 0.8 x 55% = 0.44% attribute after the changes. Moreover, it does not even mean your overall resists will be reduced by a 20% factor either, because the base ship resists will be unaffected, so the net effect will be even lower except when base resist is 0%.

And you cannot really pretend CCP should clarify all misunderstandings like this all the time either. You do however need to spend less time freaking out and listening to all the whiners, and spend that time understanding how things actually work and learning to adapt instead…

Was this clarification provided already? In this thread? I haven’t seen any post from a dev stating this…

@CCP_Dopamine What is CCP s predictions on this new brawl boost and how this will effect SOLO PVP in game ? does CCP aware about this one single change actually annhilation of very rich nuances of fighting and piloting mechanics. Do you guys know solo PVP mechanics ? How many of you doing truly Solo PVP with t1 line ships or small gang? . Eve is not only about Big fleets and F1 piloting. why destroying that much content and mechanics treasure out of blue? What is CCPs prediction… and how this will be replaced ?

when are you going to remove the logi overpower of normal logistics subcaps. Its ridiculous the amount of damage they can repair making it impossible to break in small/med gangs. They need to be nerfed to be stacked repair amount. Even a fortizar can’t put damage a small fleet with 5 logi. Its just utterly stupid

Maybe you ought to stop licking CCP’s rice crispy cornhole and realize that paying customers have a right to dislike arbitrary nerfs across the board, just because somebody somewhere got mad over not being able to blap titans in a corvette.

CCP could have taken the long and hard road by re evaluating each and every capital ship and re working them to fit the role that CCP wants them to play in the game, yet instead they arbitrarily took a shortcut to just nerf the entire hardener modules so they don’t have to do any work.

Also incremental changes could have been introduced say 5% reduction to all hardeners and increase or let is remain static, and then look at the changes on how it affects not only capital balance but the other aspects of the game itself including pve.

Yet what we see is another blunder by CCP much like the blackout fiasco that they had to back pedal because obviously they did no testing on how it would affect gameplay.

This is not the way to attract new players or retain old players by giving them a much harder time to earn the isk they need to buy ships and modules.

Clearly CCP did not think all of this through
