Another patch that will hurt solo and small gang pilots. Solo guys will be that much more squishy and gangs will be doing that much more dps. Why does CCP hate solo pilots soo much? I don’t even know why I bother anymore.

Less resist and less efficient logistics = need for more numbers to maintain the same efficiency = risk of a Serenity scenario ?

It’s significant but that’s the point.

Also this is a good boost to new players that will find their enemies much easier to kill.

the reverse is also true, you need less numbers to kill things than previously.

If you want some sophistry here you are - EVE never gonna be stale nor zinger because every activity can lead to both in combinatorics way. But it demonstrates that you understood what I am talking about.
I am talking about proportions: in a situation in which it is so affordable for players to sit in place than they have the motivation to move, more players going to sit.
Boats are really bad analogy - naturally fishers arent head-hunters so they have no motivation at all to target other fishers, they use tools which can not help in hunting other fishers, etc. And even more: fish have no chances at all against fisher there no possibility for role movement.
But other fishes - for example “Platycephalus laevigatus”- are a good analogy. They are fighting for its territory with other ambush predators it is bigger than most of the fishes it hunts for. And other predator stuff: every target for it is a huge risk, the cost of losing is fatal, the number of concurrents you are dealing with always more than 1.
Speaking about boats - in Russia, we have really poor nature protection organizations so when somewhere shows up some decent population of the fish - the uncontrollable amount of fishers appears which empties water and very very quickly situation becomes like in other places: just many boats without fish. Not a stalemate huh?
But overall we are not talking about nature or (God save me ) justice - we are about having more fun in-game, it is a synthetical world made to produce fun. If CCP needs to increase engagement they need to lower profit in camping if it so - those who moving going to move more, those who sitting going to have more motivation to move. Just make losing ships more fun(in proportion!!!) and people are going to wast all tritanium in Jita within a month.

Does this resistance change affect Rigs? Rigs are not modules they are rigs. Im assuming no, but you never know with CCP :slight_smile:

I*m going to ask a dumb question now that i wonder if anyone in CCP even thought of!

Instead of a blanket 20% reduction to shield and armour resistance modules, why not increase the stacking penalties for them instead?

We all know a player can mount 4 of the same resist modules before the effect of the penalty really hurts the fit.

Why not increase the penalties by 20% instead of the resistance bonus, this would be a more logical path as it would affect more than just resistances.

First: 100% effective no change

Second: 86.9% effective changed to 69.52%

Third: 57.1% effective changed to 45.68%

Fourth: 28.3% effective changed to 22.64%

Fifth: 10.6% effective changed 8.48%

As i see it this would be 100% better than this blank 20%, as at least the first module will have full effect, but extras won’t. This change could be adjusted, and as I see it could be applied across the other modules too.

To be honest CCP seem to be dropping the ball on thinking these suggested balances out. Has the IQ dropped in the last few years?

what kind of solo or small gang person uses any of the mods that are being changed? they are only useful for bricktanked nullblobs.

I mean you have to wonder who thought of this changes and if they actually discussed the ramifications of implementing such a change.

With the COVID-19 pandemic and people wanting to save money is it really wise for CCP to start alienating what is left of their player base just to appease a few disgruntled pvpers?

I would have thought seeing the game hasnt seen over 40k concurrent players in ages they might actually want to hang on to some of those numbers and not piss 80% of the player base off.

for one, rigs not losing resist means they will be much more interesting. This also means that shield fit will be much more interesting than armor fit, because the former can use shield boost amplifiers to increase their active rep, while the latter has nothing of the sort.

What may happen, is that double rep armor fit will be much more interesting, since they already were very close to mono rep. With resist rigs.

Right… cause who would put resists mods on their ship? Clearly this is only something that null sec people do. You do however die alot, soo… that says all one needs to know I guess.

You realise that most solo fits are less heavy on resists and more on active tank and speed.

I fly lots of solo and small gang, you can check my zkill for verification. This change doesnt bother me in the least. Yes, I have 6-8% less ehp, but so does my target, so it’s pretty much a wash. The place this will shine is large scale warfare with logi, because their reps will be less effective overall.

Not that that bothers me…because I’m not there to fight logi blobs as a solo pilot :slight_smile:
