bloody pvp…blah blah, pvp is great…blah blah…etc. I get that folks who pay the bills for you guys are pvp crowd who’ve done all the pve stuff already and they’ve gotten bored of pve, and maybe in a year I might too. But for now I’m enjoying pve, not pvp. I keep asking myself, is it worth spending time on this game only to expect more nerfing of what I enjoy in the game long term (20% reduction in shield armor when I’m already struggling with combat sites in Gila/Drek and need loads more training time to work the higher sites in larger ships)…and the answer for me at least is becoming increasingly probably not. Unless I win the lotto, then I could afford to get sp injectors and shiny ships…comon, big money yeah anyway, at least you are communicating and not afraid to change, if you don’t keep evolving the game for sure you won’t keep people…so kudos to that.
Sure, but people have been claiming for years that this one change from CCP will kill the game.
It never has. PVE is just as important as PVP and if PVEers don’t enjoy it and leave, CCP will change tack pretty quick.
So if you want to influence that, then the right thing to do is unsub and stop playing.
I interact primarily with other PVP focused players, even though PVE is a perfectly legit and valuable playstyle for other people. So if PVEers leave, I probably wouldn’t even notice the difference, except for my hauling activities maybe.
But, if people don’t like the changes, more power to them if they take action that will send a message.
What do you want exactly?
Instead of calling this Dev Blog ‘Surgical Strike’, whoever wrote it should have called it ‘Hacked & Slashed’… because that’s what you’re doing to this game.
Funny thing is whoever wrote this Dev Blog is either too embarrassed or too scared to put their actual name on it, it’s now written ‘BY EVE DEVELOPMENT TEAM’.
This is a terrible patch which will hurt and kill off more peoples gameplay than it will help, why are CCP listening to the vocal minority in lowsec and creating patchs and nerfs that wont just hurt nullsec but also highsec.
Nerfing everyone else just to make lowsec happy is the wrong decision.
You’re literally crippling the two major playstyles in the game that I enjoy, remove the things I enjoy from the game and you remove me from the game.
Haven’t they been doing that for a while on many devblogs?
I thought they changed after all the mud slung at Fozzie for Aegis Sov, even though that set of changes was also a team effort.
I seem to remember Seagull, or Fozzie or maybe even Rise giving an explanation about the change to try to highlight that the game developments are from the whole team.
Could be wrong though.
CCP tripping all over their big clown shoes again nerfing everything and everyone but missing the mark completely. Not sure if it’s intended, but these changes combined are a hefty buff to the smallest balls beta male activity in EVE Online: suicide ganking.
And ppl also claimed there will be no other recession, it is always truth until it isn’t. Eve will at one point die, will this be the reason? Maybe not, maybe yes.
And how did I know you would be the first one crying about the first buff to ganking in like 4 years after constant nerfs
A well needed buff
Maybe more people will be interested in ganking again
My statement was a bit hyperbolic for a reason. If you can’t figure out why, that’s on you
Remove PvP and people complain but would still play, still build, still PvE and run missions, cos people actually like that ■■■■, people would still mine, haul, explore.
Remove PvE and everything that cover’s and EvE is dead in a week, no one building the ships you lose, no one hauling goods around for you to buy, no one collecting salvage from ratting and exploration for building new ships and modules, no one mining the ore you need.
I’m confused. Like, Eve was sold to me as being brutal and unforgiving, and that’s what attracted me to it. So, I’m befuddled by the people who complain when Eve is made more dangerous. It’s like listening to people complain about Dark Souls being too hard. I mean, I understand not liking hard games (in fact, I like playing more relaxing games myself sometimes), but what did you think you were getting into when you signed up for Eve?
So… basically stealth bombers will be the new meta and nothing else will survive. No one else will be able to make any isk to replace ships these roaming gangs of bombers kill, and people will just stop undocking entirely. Good thinking CCP. Did you sign off on these ideas with your Economist? Oh wait…
Wasnt the daredevil enough OP like that?
if corona virus doesn’t kill EvE, this patch will …
Yeah, ganking is a dying profession. Mainly also because you need 3 accounts (or 3 people) to succeed outside miner ganking.
And this update is doing just that. It’s killing PVE. Some DED sites require high amount of resistance, which this update will kill. Not to mention if you try to go out and mine or rat in, well, anything, a small gang of bombers will quickly put an end to that. You won’t be able to make any money doing pve, because that’s how you mane money in EVE. You don’t make money doing PVP, you lose money that way. Things will grind to a stalemate halt.
So, obvious CCP wants as much isk out of the game as possible. All these insane changes and no improvement of tidi. If you wanted to make bigger battles with more losses improve the tidi. No one wants to play slow motion Eve.
