Surgical Strike – Coming 15 April

The root cause of these nerf PVE changes is that CCP believe that there is sin of PVE player. They cost resource of game but never bring interest to CCP. Why not CCP make changes more directly? Kick out all PVE players can solve this problem.

Not only that. It’s so clear that CCP wants to prevent players from doing PvE and force them to do PvP, that they should prevent players from being able to dock too. Also, ships should automatically explode if the pilot hasn’t engaged some other pilot after a set amount of time.

Actually, it’s even worse than that. The root cause is that CCP thinks PvE players are the origin of the COVID-19 and that’s why they want to get rid of them all.

You could have used 4 posts instead of only 2 to say that, BTW. The more, the better.

Would you care to name the content and explain why you can’t just add a person or change fleet comp?

I would say Angel DED 8/10’s and higher? Most people aren’t exactly wanting to split that with multiple people.

BS.

Nobody is raging, but you with your personal attacks.

Seems like you are having a hard time undestanding what is personal attack, I will link you the wikipedia page about what is, and the exact quote :

" Using someone’s affiliations as an ad hominem means of dismissing or discrediting their views"

" Accusations about personal behavior that lack evidence."

So again, go ■■■■ yourself.

What you are doing rightnow is Poisoning the well - Wikipedia

I already gave the example of superior sleeper cache.

Burner mission runners will get properly ■■■■■■ by this change.

I run 3 accounts on burners, and it’s my bread and butter to fund my pvp.

I’ll most likely have to spend the time to rework ALL my fits, and some missions will likely become impossible as unable to reach the tank needed for some of them.

Thanks CCP, I guess, either I’ll just end up quitting this activity or yet again (3rd time now in all my eve career) look somewhere else to fund pvp with, or I’ll just, you know, unsub again.

It’s like, they want people to pvp but constantly nerfing the means to.

Sure… But you didn’t explain why you couldn’t just add a person to do the content.
It might change some content that is currently solo into group content sure. But that doesn’t make the content impossible to do if so.

No, because this is unrelated.
I mean, you can’t “add a person to do the content”. Do it and you’ll know why. Try it on sisi you can find some. And try to do it with friends until the archives end.
Just stop talking big mouth, do it.

Yes it does. Something that was was solo and becomes group means that the solo thing was removed and the group thing was added.

Complete PVE numpty question: do these changes affect NPCs at all (ie. do NPCs use resist modules, or do they just have base resists regardless of fitting)?

NPCs don’t have modules, they have stats directly.

OK, thanks.

Given how CCP sets the stats for NPCs, I don’t believe this will impact NPCs at all. The stats are built into the NPC entities as a direct attribute. They don’t actually have “modules”.

Source: EVE Fanfest 2017 presentation, explaining how NPC stats are set by CCP:

For example, the Minmatar NPC Rifter that is showcased has a Limited Adaptive Invuln on it, which is definitely a module that will be impacted by the -20% Resistance power this coming patch. But it doesn’t actually have module “fitted” on it, Instead, the resulting attributes as just set as its baseline as an NPC entity.

Of course, CCP could always rebalance all the NPCs, taking into account potential impacts on Resistance modules, and do a balance sweep on all of the NPCs that had their attributes set like the Rifter example from their presentation. But given that they did not make a mention of it in their devblog, I don’t think they will.

Actually it’s not totally true, they have effect they can apply, eg guns, and those can be associated with types, eg missile charges, but typically the stats parts is static (no module to activate besides the rep and the mwd when out of chase distance)

Team won’t have a change. Unless it becomes worth to use rage rockets ?

Base blood will need to remove DPS and get more tank ;

Base angel void is buffed so not sure if really a big difference ; anyhow I think (not sure) that you can still tank it by using double rep in the low.

base serpentis will be much slower and zzZZzz since you’ll need the gallente hac that’s been buffed. It has the resists for it without a lot of modules, so speed tanking + drones should be fine, and it gets bonused to DPS. But something like twice the completion time, because it’s slow as ■■■■. Matar hac could still do it but require more manual placement since now you may get killed in… dunno, how many crits ?
The deimos(gal hac) gets +26.5% DPS, +50 PWR, +20 CPU. However base speed is 230 m/s while vagabond is 295 so -22% speed. Deimos has 8.6 Eguns (actually less due to resistances), vaga has 8.3, but more pwr and the AC cost less than the neutron blasters.

agent angel may become ouch… not sure actually, the gain in void may actually make the DPS race faster in our favor.
Agent sansha will however for sure become much more difficult since it needs EM tank only.
Agent blood just like agent sansa will become almost impossible ? no bonus on DPS but reduction in multi-resists.
Agent guristas can be done without resist module so no change. Actually go faster.
Agent serpentis no real change. Actually go alot faster, like angel but without the need to overload.

But of course my alts for this activity have perfect skills. For other people it may be… not really the case.

Thanks for that,

I was slacking off the thought of having to look at each fit and what might change but you helped out a bit there.

We’ll see what happens, and it’ll probably come to losing a couple 300-400mil ships in the process

Don’t wait, try them on sisi. and don’t forget to tell me
Actually the vagabond is still better, just not able to facetank the last talos. Just thinking that the deimos may be much safer now, and also may be viable dps-wise.

Yea, I use an Enyo for the Talos base.

The agent burners will need proper testing out yup, but the DD with dps buff might hopefully be enough, Sansha is a ■■■■■ because you need some time to reach your optimal and that’s where things can go bad.

oO

I guess as long as you don’t have a bad orbit, and don’t do stupid things like “keep at range” it’s fine.

What’s your DPS ? 500 ?

Dps around 250, and as long as I dont fly to them straight, keep transversal at 280-300, with AB on they cant hit me and I just ease in a 500m orbit.

The orbit entry needs to be well placed relative to the other Taloses that can still potshot you if the orbit is inside their low transversal (2 shot kill)

Risky but cheap if done well

oO

dude try them with MWD and orbit 500(and cut mwd off when you are 15 km away). unless you directly approach them they should not touch you.

I just checked an enyo fit on an alt, it’s almost same speed as vagabond; and 300 DPS while not having the skills to fly it.

Of couse if you get shot, you will die (low chance to hit = 100% crit)
