Sync-ing fleet warp speeds in formation?

Not sure if its a thing, but ill ask anyways…. Is there a way to set formation flight where ships of different speed capabilities can slow down to the slowest ship to arrive information together?

This happens automatically. The whole fleet warps at the speed of the slowest ship. What you cannot do is synchronize the align-to-warp-time.

It already does this. Get everyone aligned first, then fleet warp.

You sure? I dont think so. If i fleet warm an orca with a bunch of mining barges… the barges are gone and the orca is still aligning… If you wanted to fleet jump a titan and a bunch of dreads and they pop off together at the same time, etc this is what im talking about… I dont see where you can do that

In your barges+orca example, you are referring to align time, not warp speed. Warp speed (and the acceleration rate to warp speed when entering warp and exiting it) is consistent across all ships in a fleet warp scenario. All ships’ warp speeds will be the same as the ship with the slowest warp speed in the fleet.

Align time is the amount of time it takes for your ship to get into warp once you click warp to something. This is governed by the agility stat for each individual ship, which is a culmination of the ship’s base agility attribute, any agility-altering modules (nanos, i-stabs, etc.) and pilot skill level in the agility-related skills. Unlike warp speed, agility is not made consistent across all ships in the fleet. This is by design and has always been this way. Imagine how broken the game would be if all you had to do to get a < 2s align and warp in a Titan was to fleet up with an insta-warp configured Sunesis.

This is why fleets of ships will align towards the warp destination and get up to speed before the fleet commander triggers a fleet warp. This is how everyone, regardless of ship type and agility, warps together and lands at the warp destination together.

What if fleet warp waited for the slowest ship to align? The current system works like an emergency warp—ships warp individually once aligned. A new option could delay warp until all ships are aligned, though it might be harder to implement than it sounds.

Why not have CCP code something to play the game for you, so that way you don’t have to do anything?

Interesting idea, though i like to play the game.

It doesnt hurt to think out of the box and create options

They did come up with formation routines, im simply asking about syncing departure from a site, For example - if you are in a fight and signal retreat, ALL ships will jump out at the same time hooked to the slowest ship so that logi can continue to defend, and other ships remain fighting until all have gotten the warp out, assuming none of them are pointed and locked down . having the option in fleet, helps to avoid attrition in a fight.
