Seems it’s been a while since this has been suggested.
We have Transport Ships as T2 versions of haulers, but what we lack is T2 versions of the specialized Gallente haulers Kryos, Epithal and Miasmos. I propose these get based on the Transport Ships skill similarly to the Occator.
100% bonus to the benefits of overheating Afterburners, Microwarpdrives, Local Repair Modules, and Resistance Modules
90% reduction to effective distance traveled for jump fatigue
This would give each ship a maximum capacity of 100k m³ (60k for Ice). That may sound like a lot, but bare in mind that a DST gives almost double the amount of m³ compared to a generic T1 hauler. These are specialized ships so they deserve a good bonus in what they’re specifically made for, at a price of 10 times that of their T1 equivalent.
I don’t think we need any specialized T2 Gallente haulers, IMHO.
If it came down to adding any other four (etc.) ships I’d rather see the Mordu Legion lineup expanded to include a destroyer and battlecruiser, and maybe a HAC and AF.
For that matter, AF, HAC and even Marauder (maybe?) for all the other Pirate factions might be welcome additions.
Thanks, but your reply has zero to do with what I’m proposing and you don’t offer arguments why it’s not a good idea. If you have proposals for additional ships I suggest making a separate post about it.
On the assumption there would be limited (CCP) resources available to allocate to new ships, I’m suggesting this would be better spent elsewhere than a handful of niche hauling ships (hence some of the alternate suggestions as an example).
I could go further and suggest that Pirate haulers would be a better addition as opposed to a few more Gallente-specific ones.
TLDR: Pirate Faction (T1) haulers might be a more interesting addition.
I feel like more specialized haulers wouldn’t really be a good thing nor a bad thing. It would just be a thing. I’d imagine someone would use them, but I doubt it’d be enough to justify the change. I would like to see a trig hauler. I’m curious what that’d look like, or what it’d do
