T3 Cerberus looking for suggestions

Hello everyone,

I know that the meta is the Gila and that ship is basically something every guide is suggesting and for a good reason, however I don’t really like that ship and the way it works and I want to try flying something else. I tried different ships and fits and ended up with Cerberus in t3 exotic. So far it is doing fine, I did throw some biggish isk on it, I am just looking for suggestions if some more experienced people would like to help out what to change in order to improve the fit. Still having some issues with dps application, that is probably my biggest issue.

Here is the fit:

[Cerberus, Cerberus]
Ballistic Control System II
Ballistic Control System II
Ballistic Control System II
Missile Guidance Enhancer II

Thukker Large Cap Battery
Shadow Serpentis 50MN Microwarpdrive
Missile Guidance Computer II
Pithum C-Type Medium Shield Booster
Pithum C-Type Multispectrum Shield Hardener

Heavy Assault Missile Launcher II
Heavy Assault Missile Launcher II
Heavy Assault Missile Launcher II
Heavy Assault Missile Launcher II
Heavy Assault Missile Launcher II
Heavy Assault Missile Launcher II

Medium EM Shield Reinforcer II
Medium Explosive Shield Reinforcer II

Missile Precision Script x1
Scourge Javelin Heavy Assault Missile x6244
Caldari Navy Scourge Heavy Assault Missile x1558
Scourge Rage Heavy Assault Missile x4910

I do have a Genolution set and had to put a 3% grid implant, and all other implants are 3% as well.

Any and all suggestions are welcome, hoping for a good discussion, also would like to thank anyone that reads the topic and for any suggestion in advance.

Fly safe o7

P.S. Just to add a question as I had lost this ship to an elite Cynabal/Dramiel spawn and can’t really figure out how to handle that, they just kill me so fast, if any suggestion for prio or some tips that would be awesome as well. Again thank you in advance.

I’m not an experienced abyss grinder, but I’m an excessive Cerberus user. Unless you need to tank EM like crazy, my recommendation would be to fit a stasis webbifier

Slowing a hostile to 40%~50% of it’s original movement speed means that even if a cerberus is “slow”, it’ll be faster then whatever it webbed, enabling it to just run away from hostiles it doesn’t want to be close to. Reducing the hostile’s movement speed to 40~50% also means that its’ missiles will inflict 200~240% of their regular damage, as the reduced speed is compared to the explotion velocity. For a comparization, the scripted guidance computer provides around +35% damage only, and no ability to keep things away from the cerb.

A web can be overheated for extra range. If you overheat a t2 web to keep the Cynaball you’re being traumatized by at 12km distance to you, it will deal substancially less damage then it would if it was on it’s prefered orbit. Ah, and you deal twice the damage on it because you slowed it. Good deal?

Now, if you want to invest a bit of isk, my recommendation would be the caldari faction web, because it’s less expensive then the other faction webs and reaches out 13km w/o overheat, which is good enough for most non-wormhole NPCs and won’t get you traumatized by your hardware failing due to overheat damage

The next objective would be to increase the damage application on small targets. The web won’t help you there, and a target painter on a HAML fit feels out of place. Instead, look at the rigs. A Warhead Rigor Catalyst provides 20% explotion size reduction, which is more then the scripted guidance computer provides. In fact it’s almost as good as the bonuses of the scripted computer and the bonus of the enhancer together. Unlike the EM/EXP shield rig, it doesn’t increase the cerberus’ signature, either. As for which of the two to replace, it’s the EXP one. All Caldari Ships have a ridiculous EM hole in their tank, however the explosive should be dealt with sufficiently with the multispectral hardener you have.

Fit drones on the cerberus. If you use drones against abyss NPCs, the frigate NPCs will aggress on the drones and destroy them. As the frigate NPCs are focusing on the drones, they will use all the ewar they have on the drones, which means that they’ll quickly stop cap-neuting, scramming, webbing, sensor dampening, and whatnot, the cerberus, until the drones are wrecked, and the cerberus can use this timeslot to burn away with it’s microwarp

Thank you for the reply.

Well every abyss pack from my limited experience spawns diff kind of rats, depending on the spawn is their dmg type, thus it is suggested to keep a uniform tank as you never know what you will be put up against.

Web sadly isn’t an option really for me I believe as most of the time I manage to outrun and kite them around so nothing is in range of a web 80% of the time.

I thought that with 16% exp velocity and -16% in exp radius missile guidance with precision script is better than -20% exp radius to apply damage to smaller targets, isn’t it?

When it comes to drones, I do use them when its relatively safe to put out as they get blaped pretty fast and there is not much room to keep spares.

I’m in search of suggestion and discussions also.
Your fit is similar to the one I lost in Chaos Dark two days ago…
I discuss that fit and my new fit here.
If you or anyone would bump this and make some suggestion I would per ultrahappy…
I don’t actually know if my new Mutaplasmid fit is ok for T3’s…

Just to add a question as I had lost this ship to an elite Cynabal/Dramiel spawn and can’t really figure out how to handle that, they just kill me so fast, if any suggestion for prio or some tips that would be awesome as well. Again thank you in advance.

Where you met them?? Gamma T3???
I would avoid Gamma in Cerberus… Better going Sacrilege…
I’d try to avoid them and swap to a better Expl profile ship…

Medium EM Shield Reinforcer II
Medium Explosive Shield Reinforcer II

I have Shield solidifier
and Rigor II on my Cerb…

It really hepls with Frigs…
Drams deals EM and Expl… but again, fly Sacrilege for Gammas…

Take a look also to Hateless vid on Abyss, theyre very helpful!!
