Just saw a YT vid targeting old players whom quit the game around 2012 - 2014. when Mittani and Goons were a thing. A period of time when EvE become more than a game, but a extreme environement where a player ceased to exist just because the abuse and bullying of these people. People whom were officially supported by CCP.

Now, same as me … a lot of people quit the game at that time, not because of Goons and Mitanni, but mostly how this issue was handled by CCP. Now, they still got our emals and ask us to come back. Also, there are some YT vids about “ten years later in EvE”. Where the good news is … hi sec is no more hi sec.

Now, question is why I would come back into a game that is way more toxic than it was before? This is not even a criticism, but rather questioning the marketing campaign. Why you want back people whom quit the game just because it got too extreme?

Is like … I live now in EU. So why I’m asked to get back in Somalia? Is there anyone sane in this company whom trully believe that I will ever return to this shithole? I mean .. c’mon

Truth be told… I’m surprised to see that this post hasn’t been removed and that I’m not banned. I’m not even sure how to react to that. And this is a bit weird compared to… let’s say, Star Citizen, where a similar question would result in a 10-year ban on Spectrum (and / or Reddit).

No, I’m not, and I never will be. Never ever will I touch this game again in my life, no matter what. The Mittani and James era left a permanent scar in my mind. It’s just this YT clip that I saw a few weeks ago that reminded me of the 7 years I wasted in this game. For me, it’s like seeing an ad on TV saying, “Come back to Somalia, the land of the free.”

Since I left EvE (forever), I’m totally dedicated to SC. And even if there is a strong push in the EvE direction by some (ex-EvE) players, where ganking and ruining other players’ enjoyment is a lifestyle, SC will never become EvE 2.

The only thing I wanna congratulate EvE on is the collab with Google. That is impressive. Good luck.

I’m not sure they do. They are whining about players who quit the game years ago, but beyond that there’s not much substance.

They are asking why would they come back to a game where the culture is no different, if not worse than what it was during the era when they quit? The recent ‘incident’ with a certain youtuber smacks of the T20 fiasco all over again.

I would not recommend anyone starting the same 15 year journey I am currently on. The only reason I am here is leaving lets down the people who depend on those who stay to keep going.

Rules for thee, rules for me. Does not matter how many or how famous, its that there is a distinction at all. If by any measure things are better, it only in that there are fewer people but with more accounts.

That is not a sign of good health.

Me too, though I would prefer the most rewarding part of the game was not having a productive discussion on its forum. :frowning:

Yeah but these folk in here care little for Game health and more about catering for their Own constant craving for emotional response to their daft acts. Give them non and the Hate channels and blogs will just run dry .
