The afk hs ganker in trade hubs

NO. When the kill right is added, you then cannot shoot the person without activating the kill right and paying that 11bn. Exactly as the Google AI says…and which I have also personally experienced. You are sort of missing the point…no-one’s going to pay 11bn to shoot someone they could have shot for free 30 seconds earlier.

You try to tell us that I can instantly end a any regular suspect timer even after one second by just giving that char an open killright? And CCP is not aware of that? Doubt. I will test that with my own chars as soon as I am in HS again. That would be a huge exploit of the suspect mechanic.

Well…in two separate places Google AI even agrees with me. It even quite clearly says you can place a kill right on someone who is already suspect.

I have never encountered a situation with a person with a kill right where it just says ’ ah…this person already had a suspect timer on them…so you don’t need to activate the kill right, just shoot them’. It has always insisted that I activate the kill right…it says ‘action not allowed’ if I try to shoot them.

Really…all you need to test is can you place a kill right on a person who is already suspect, and will it then force you to activate the kill right in order to shoot them. Do this with safety green…as you shouldn’t need to change from safety green to shoot suspects.

I don’t doubt that you can place a killright on a person who is already suspect, I just doubt that will instantly end the already existing suspect timer. That would be totally stupid.

Well…that’s where this bit comes in…

  • Kill Right Override: In some scenarios, if a player is already a suspect, you cannot simply click “attack” if your safety is green; you must activate the kill right, which overrides the existing suspect timer to allow the attack.

Which is exactly what I said. You are forced to activate the kill right. That is the entire issue ! I don’t think it ‘ends’ the existing timer…I think the kill right status is simply given precedence.

And consider the flip side of it. Someone who already has a kill right on them can equally commit more acts that make them suspect. Does the suspect status take precedence and allow you to kill them without activating the kill right ? Well…that’s not what I’ve encountered.

Don’t believe google AI. It told me orcas don’t compress moon ores

Did you tell AI that you’re talking about spaceship Orcas?

Yeah, of course it does.

If someone who has a killright attacks an MTU or steals from a container, he can be legally attacked by anyone. Killright or not.

Sigh.

You’ve obviously never done suspect hunting and SEEN this stuff happen. I have conversed with other suspect hunters in my corp and they all agree that it happens. I don’t care what people ‘believe’. I have seen it with my own eyes.

So you have several people who have seen it…and Google AI even says in several places that it is what happens…and at that point I simply cease to care what anyone ‘believes’.

Did you actually report it as a bug and also in a support ticket?

Maybe we should test the thesis of killrights being bugged. Should only need 3 people in starter ships.

Killright absolutely does not interfere with suspect status. I’ve attacked suspects who had KRs available on numerous occasions and it worked the way suspect status works.

HOWEVER!

The KR colortag/background WILL supplant the suspect one if it’s at a higher priority, which can visually hide the suspect status.

Yeah, but than it’s an individual overview issue, not a gameplay issue.

I’d agree with that.

I can’t make this happen in testing on my alts. I thought maybe there might be a client-side edge case where, if the KR tag and background are prioritized over the suspect status, maybe the client farts about it with safety on. Seems unlikely.

So in this case the target has a KR and is not yet suspect. KR tag and background are higher priority, but it’s the only status in play. Tooltip says I can’t shoot; expected:

Jettisoned some trash and looted it to pick up a suspect flag. KR tag/bg still at higher priority. Tool tip says light 'em up:

They don’t even let you see your bug reports anymore. AFAIK they go straight into the Abyss

That’s why you also report it as a support ticket (just as my very sentence recommends that you’ve quoted) to see if and what they respond to?
