The Amarr Bloc - Present State of Affairs

Greetings Capsueleers -

Some of you may remember me, Cardinal Dex of the Curatores Veritatis Alliance. It has been some years since I left capsuleer life to pursure a professorship at the Emperor Family Academy. At the time, the CVA had been driven from Providence.

I have recently decided to return and am finding the state of things very different than when I had left. The CVA has re-taken Providence, the PIE Alliance seems to be no more, LUMEN and EDICT seem to now be the current standard bearers, and there seemed to have been a schism of sorts during the Triglavian invasion.

My quetion is simple:

Who now, are the Movers & Shakers within the Amarr Bloc? I mean individuals, corporations, alliances, etc.

I will be re-establishing the Providence Theological Seminary in the coming month, as the alliance has grown, and there are many who wish to deepen their faith. While I cannot open adminissions to those outside of the CVA (we are at the very beginning stages of re-developing curriculum, hiring staff, etc), it is exactly my desire to understand the current state of affairs, in order to possibly open up courses to the wider New Eden community.

It seems… that I may be the last remaining pilot within Imperial Dreams… but even so, Amarr’s Light is eternal.

Blessings,
Cardinal Dex

I sure as hell hope so.

PIE is not gone as a corporation, only as a separate alliance, having joined LUMEN some years ago.

Cardinal, you have certainly returned to… “interesting” times, as it were.

The Guristas and Angel Cartel are terrorizing the spaceways with their scattered insurgencies; the Drifter hive systems have been invaded by not only our own factions, but the Triglavian Collective as well; the cluster once again finds itself at the brink of open imperial war.

As said, interesting times… and I hope you are able to settle well enough amidst all that is going on.

I’ve also been asked to pass my regards to you, by a relative of mine you may or may not remember working with in the past. Know that my family shares those sentiments, and wishes you well so long as no evil be done.

I can fully attest that PIE is still functional as an organisation.

Greetings, Cardinal Dex.

I am genuinely glad to see your return. Many older capsuleers still remember the role you and the Seminary once played within Providence and the wider Amarr community. It is good to know that the Light of Amarr still burns within CVA.

I wished to ask — does Providence still follow the old principle that loyal subjects of the Empire may freely travel, live and work within the region, so long as they respect Imperial law and local authority? Or has policy changed since the years before the fall?

With the current state of New Eden, I imagine many Amarrian capsuleers, theologians and pilgrims may once again seek a place within Providence.

Blessings,
Stephanos Varkonis

Brother Varkonis,

In my absence, the CVA has adjusted it’s governing policy regarding transit and residence within Providence. There has been a tremendous growth in the population of capsuleers in New Eden, as well as the addition of new power blocs, which made our previous NRDS policy untenable.

Concord standings systems had systemic limitations to the point where we were no longer able to reasonably track the moral histories of unaligned capsuleers. It became such a problem, that Providence became waylaid with nefarious spies which ultimately lead to the CVA and it’s allies being overrun, and forced out of Providence.

After many years within the Placcid region rebuilding our forces, the CVA retook Providence through a renewed reclaiming campaign. However, old enemies such as Honorable Third Party (which are far from honorable), and the loathsome Arton Alliance create constant security risks in the region, even for unaligned pilots. We ran projections of estimated loss of life to these lawless brutes, and came to the conclusion, that for the sake of preserving life, a stronger security protocol would be needed, and enforced.

Perhaps, in the future, if Concord is willing to develop systems that would allow the old system of governance, and safety to become tenable, we would certainly convene a council to revert. But long before even that would be possible, we have much to do in the way of ridding such vagabonds from our adjacent territory. The Misaba Pipeline is not safe, and must be purged.

If you would like a tour of Providence brother, say the word, and I shall convene an escort for your visitation.

The Light of Amarr is Eternal,
Cardinal Dex
