The biggest consequence of Trig space is one that no one is talking about.
The mutaplasmid things rely on RNG. Humans can’t handle the idea of RNG and try to ‘quantify’ everything. So just like how every other week there is a thread in the PVE forum about how “CCP must have nerfed something because I usually get X amount of escalations/good loot drops etc per week and this week I didn’t get that many!!!”, there will be thread after thread after thread HERE about how ‘something’ must have changed because of ccp stealth action.
“CCP stealth nerfed Plasmids because last month I had a successful roll once out of every 3 times I used them on tech 2 mods and now I’m getting 1 out of 5 with the rest being junk…, it’s basically a cash grab to get people to buy more plex!!!”
From missed/critical hits, to drugs, to overheat damage to parallel modules, to EWAR, to missions/escalations/site/WH spawns, to Officer spawns, to spawn point after gating, to loot/wreck drops etc.
Sure, but all of them do not allow you to just reroll indefinitely for ISK. Also the outcome is not all or nothing, but gives some variety in a more skill based game. Invention has a skill part, and single “rolls” do not matter, because you play the game of average outcome, which is also clearly defined.
ECM is probably the closest to the new slot machine, but do you see people like it?
It’s pretty similar to buying expenditions off your alliance mates. I used to do it back in 2011-2012. One could say that i had it “reroll it indefinitely”.
So you can run escalations while sitting docked in Jita, one every couple of seconds, without any skill requirement, just repeat the same clicks over and over waiting for the jackpot?
My point was not about the supply, but the usage. We will see how much mutagens are supplied to the market. The amount will for sure be magnitudes higher than escalation bookmarks traded, if you still want to compare these two things.
I would be happy if mutagens would be as rare as escalations.
