I agree with that, but that single term in its general context and not its specific medical application can easily replace whole paragraphs of descriptive text regarding the game environment one would find in this game.
Knowing that ahead of time would probably help new players set their own expectations.

re sociopathy you’re probably right. i’d have to dig too deep into the history. ever since the term got muddled up with “personality disorders” i believe thinks went out of control. there must be reasons why people treat sociopaths and psychopaths the same.
Also, i’m biased, and believe that Rod is much worse. i guess i classify non-functioning sociopaths as psychopaths, mostly because they feel no empathy and no regret whatsoever. Aaanyhow, not gonna argue. You’re likely right.

Ah that’s fair enough, it’s just a word that gets misused and thrown about to describe people playing the game within the rules set down by CCP.
I’ve no doubt that there are sociopaths that do play Eve, just as you’ll find them in every other game and in all walks of life.

You’re mistaken. The topic is done, for idontknowhowmanyposts now. If you don’t believe it, i suggest reading through it.
Furthermore, when people lack the requirements to actually discuss the topic, then there isn’t much to discuss. Uninformed opinions are not worth being considered, they just add a lot of words, and a lot of responses, yet nothing comes out of it when the person with the uninformed opinion refuses to realize his own uninformedness. Not sure if that’s a word, but now it is. 
Example, Charly up there. He asks what he wins when he survives the gank. He voices his unqualified opinion, not even understanding what he’s talking about. If he did, then he’d know that he literally won by not getting ■■■■■■■ ganked, but the concepts of self responsibility and survival are apparently completely foreign to him. How do you expect people to discuss with those who refuse to understand the very topic they’re talking about?
What we havehere is equal to flat earthers running around believing dumb ■■■■ and insisting that they are right. Thesearen’t smart people and anyone who isn’t smart enough to discuss a topic should at least be willing to listen and learn. The world is in this state, because dumb, uninformed people get to choose who our leaders are.
In EVE, we don’t let them decide the fate of the virtual world we live in. Instead we do things how they should be done IRL: We don’t let instinct driven, ignorant, irrational and princess-esque special snowflakes get to decide the fate of everyone else. Most humans are capable of protecting themselves, and they do not need a Big Brother to protect them. And that’s all it boils down to.
There are people who grew up in degenerated ways, never learning how to deal with actual problems themselves. They instead cry to mommy/daddy/big brother, until they get what they want. In this case it’s more protection. They literally want other people to change the game for them, because they refuse what tens of thousands of others had no problem with. Self protection. Roddybaby even calls it “tedious and annoying”, revealing how degenerated he has become and how he relies on authority to protect him, as if he was a stupid animal… and that’s how he behaves as well.
That’s not intelligent behaviour. It simply isn’t. If there was a major, continent wide powerout resulting in lack of food, they’d be the first to run to Big Brother, while I’d be the first to kill them, because they’d guarantee my survival. The same applies to EVE, but in every day Life. Someone who complains for protection in a game about economy and survival will not manage to actually deal withthe real world when there is no one around to protect them.
Roddybaby is a prime example of a human being completely disconnected from his nature. The only reason why this thread even exists, is because his inflated sense of himself got kicked back into reality: someone shot him down. It is, literally, about some stupid’s ego that fails to deal with the fact that he got bested.
There is nothing more to discuss. Everything even remotely intelligent has been covered already. Your feelings are irrelevant, as only survival of the fittest/smartestadaptable matters. And that’s what people sign up for. if you sign up for EVE not knowing it’s how it is, then that’s your fault. If you play a game of chess and demand the rules to be changed to your liking, then you’re stupid. The same applies for EVE as well
I dare you to write something actually intelligent, that addresses what this topic is actually about:
- self responsibility
- self protection
- survival
Or just go back to WoW, where you totalitatians belong. (i’m not going to address this, and iam absolutely certain that you do not understand what that means. Rest assured that the label is 100% spot on).

The problem isn’t even that people keep making threads. It’s that those who know better keep creating an environment which helps the ill minded to prosper. I absolutely believe that not every opinion is valid and important, unlike most people, especially those who benefit from this ill view on existence the most: those who don’t know how to form an informed opinion in the first place, and those who abuse the priviledge (!) of free speech like roddybaby.
We give our attention to those who deserve it the least, and that that’s not a good approach can be seen in this very thread.

My ignorance is actually rather embarrassing. I come partly from a family of farmers (mum’s side), however every plant I’ve ever tried to grow has shrivelled up and died. I’ve not the gift, I guess; and without the gift, the information is…unattractive.
