If AG ran hired escort fleets, those targets would not be low hanging fruit.
The issue now, is whether that is even fiscally possible, or whether the HS sandbox is broken in that player intervention in a gank cant outstrip the set CONCORD magnitude vs gank.
When people are unable to simply communicate their position on the gate, relative to the one central star in every system, then they have bigger issues. Why can these people not think for themselves?
The area around the gate is a cube. You have 8 corners, which are all that’s important. As there needs to be at least one object that can be relied upon to always be around in every single system, the local star will be used as reference. The direction from the Gate to the Star will always be “forward”.
This makes it stupidly easy to declare which corner of the imaginary cube around the gate is the closest one. Then you declare shorts, to save on time typing, like this:
FTL = Forward Top Left
BBR = Back Bottom Right
L = Left
etc.etc.
See, the actual issue here is that all that happens here, right now, is that these people should not need to learn this. They should be able to think for themselves. They can’t. Anderson does not actually creatively think about how to solve problems, instead we continuously get to read that “things can’t be done” or “don’t work” and it is us who have to come up with solutions for her, which by itself is another gigantic waste of time that achieves nothing.
That is not how it should work, and that is not how AG will ever turn into something of value.
So you are proposing that one bounce off the nearby tactical bookmark (as near as possible), and time it so that the escorted vessel decloaks to align just intime for you to warp to 0 on it to web it.
