So I have seen the news. Anyone else thinks Henry Cavill is too pretty to play witcher? When I see him, he is superman for me, but not witcher. Never.

Stupid RAM, doesnt want to work alongside the old one. Timings different despite being the same code for it as old one. I think I will have to return it. System and bios recognizes but windows uses only 8 gb like before. Tried nearly everything, What a piece of junk. :disappointed::-1:

That’s a bummer! The universe conspires for you to either buy a 16 GB module or another 8GB like the new one…

Since you tried everything I guess you also tried putting them on different banks (i.e. you have 4 slots in 2 banks of 2, use one slot in one bank for each module) and all the possible hardware location options.

I will have to try all the combinations, just reading that it help sometimes. I tried some combinations and with dimm1 and 2 ocupied by ram it did not start. So maybe its something like my motherboard failure.

I somehow remember that system can use different RAM sticks (even if they should be the same performance) as long as they’re on different memory channels.

Yes, but windows doesnt use it in my case. Basically I installed on these two channels the corresponding 2x 8GB and then it only shows 8GB usable and the rest of 16GB is reserved by BIOS. I can check that in windows. Installed linux and it shows there is only 8GB too, doesnt show that 16GB is installed even. Bios is showing 16GB, post is showing 16 GB, just stupid windows cant use it, and motherboard supports it, cpu supports it, windows supports it, everything supports it, it is NOT USABLE.

Driving me insane at this point. I remember you could just pick up the ram stick and it worked fine when you could push it inside the slot, novadays it doesnt even work when you have basically the same stuff from the same producer. WHEN HAVE ALL THE THINGS GO SO BAD?

What Windows it is?

It is windows 7 home premium 64 bit. I checked and it supports as much rom. I suspect the issue is somewhere in hardware. On their own the ram pairs work nicely when inserted in the dimms I used always, just it looks like there is problem with all of them being recognized by something in hardware when all are inserted. The one ram only in different dimm slots would probably show what dimm can pose troubles.

This is becoming a real puzzle, like juggling them to see what fits…

BTW this hairy creature showed on the window just now.
