That means the eagles are coming to help you with your hardware issue! :stuck_out_tongue:

Good morning lovelies.

I sticked two fake plastic jevels to the paper pyramid I made, on the top, it now looks so fancy.

CCP is sold to Pearl Abyss, maker of Black Desert.

First of all, I don’t know what the issue, or details, exactly are, so, it does make it hard to give an exact and precise diagnostic.
Secondly, don’t discard the opportunity, or possibility, to use another, 2nd system, for in case that this second option becomes more cost feasible, or, easier , than to solve the issue or matter.

RAM used to have parity and non-parity systems, which, for some reason, they seem not to use at this time, or the data is no longer mentioned.

The mobo, BIOS, OS, and chip themselves all are parameter involved in the equation.
For instance, what if the one chip which currently works, the 8 GB usable RAM one, is in another slot than the current one, and the new or other chip is where it was.
Would that still work, or would it show the new chip to function differently or not function?
Of course, another system to run those kind of benchmark test woupld be better than to use your main system to do so, however, the store that sold the chip, or some other repair store, can do that.

One clue to the problem I would think is the 16 GB showing in the BIOS and the OS responding differently.
So, perhaps a BIOS setting.
I don’t know what it is.
If the repair store can’t fix it, that means you need a higher level of science to fix the problem.
Often, engineers work in those store, and they have engineering programs to fix it, which other people don’t have.
Of course, those programs are also more expensive.

Edit:
dimm slots
They are the slots for RAM or Memory. DIMM is the form factor of the memory chips used nowadays (Dual In-line Memory Module like Jakob Kobberholm said below). They differ from laptop memory, which uses SO- DIMM , and older computers, which often use SIMM (Single In-line Memory Module)

Still haven’t read but… here comes Hilmar’s golden bailout.

Mine use 204-pin, instead of 240 or so.

Totally related to CCP being sold:

I read :

Dev blog: Black Desert Online makers Pearl Abyss to acquire CCP!

CCP Games as a wholly owned independent subsidiary.

There is probably a difference between CCP and CCP Games.

There was Hilmar and bunch of devs and other people from CCP. I think they will want to try luck somewhere else after that and Pearl Abyss decided to make a bonus payment if they will sell enough stuff to us before leaving the stage with money.

There is something like that bonus payment talked about in articles.

You know, jsut yesterday I read that Pirates Of the Burnign Sea (POTBS) is shutting down by the end of September, since the “code guy” is quitting the company that’s kept ti alive for 5 years. Unless users buy it via a public foundation, that will be the end to 10 years of operation.

POTBS was the first MMO I played (and it wasn’t really a MMO, much like EVE Online). Yesterday it announced shutting down and today we learn CCP is being sold.

Wonder how interesting will be the times we will be facing…

Very Interesting. :sunglasses:

I got rid of the RAM problems using an uncenventional Minmatar method:

Cutting the metallic shield of that useless art piece some Gallante artist crammed on top of RAM.

Now it works fine, all 16GB visible and available.
I am proud. Like a true Sobiestor. :sunglasses:

It werks, the CPU cooler was a no no with this styled shield around RAM protruding too far. It was squished and RAM was bent so slightly but noticably for the motherboard and windows to not accept it, probably some pins did not contact. When I put one stick of RAM only there the system did not want to start, elsewhere it worked. After I cut the shield so it fits better, I cleaned as much as I could the RAM from pieces of metal that could have sticked to it when I cut the shield, dont want any short circuit anywhere.

FIXED. :ok_hand:
Now where is my Sobiestor fermented honey drink to toast it. :tropical_drink:

$425m for CCP’s backers. They got a decent chunk of change, good for them!

…so it was a literal hardware issue nonetheless!

(But now that you’ve removed some of the cooling surface off that memory, be careful to never let your computer overheat)

Heh, these were just some pointy bits that barely done eny cooling I think. Its just beside the cooler itself also, so its all nice and dandy. :sunglasses:

I’m saving up for capital ships. Today I made a small amount of ISK. If I keep making ISK every day, then in 20 days I’ll be able to get the capital ship I want. :relaxed:

Good night, lovelies.
