I don’t mean to diss your country Nana, but how does business get done there?. I mean if i sign a contract to get 15.000 for an item, and they make more money selling it again. Then i can sue to get more, how can one trust people/business partners then??.

There is exception for artists that sell rights to their art or something like that. When someone gets disproportionate big amount of money from using somethign bought for pennies. I think the court have to decide then if buying party worked it out before and knew that they will get so much money from use but proposed only pennies for something.
But the issue here is CDP proposed percentage value, 1%, but Sapkowski wanted cash “here and now”.

So surely that would invalidate his claim, since he signd a contract. Where he clearly said that he wanted cash, i have never heard of such a law. Where years later one can sue for more money despite signing a contract, where one agreed to a certain amount of money.
They offerd procentage, but he declined saying that games sucked and it would never be a hit. The word greedy comes to mind…

Goes both ways. Contracts aren’t just made to give everyone their fair share. Contracts are used to secure the greedy so they can stay greedy.
I don’t find the law dumb or stupid at all. Seems rather smart to me and ensures that a nation can have good contracts while bad contracts can always get thrown out even years after they’ve been made.
If he will be successful is a matter for the court to decide.
